This Director provides high-level guidance onrevenue generation—spanning grants, major gifts, corporate partnerships, and public campaigns—while ensuring sustainable practices that support the charity’s mission. Although this is not a hands-on fundraising role, the Director leverages their network, expertise, and strategic insight to advise the Board and CEO on fundraising best practices, donor stewardship, and financial resilience. Key Responsibilities Governance &amp; Strategic Oversight<ul><li>&nbsp;Lead the development and refinement of a multi-year fundraising plan that aligns with mission priorities and growth targets.</li><li>Provide the Board with regular updates on fundraising performance, emerging opportunities, and sector trends.</li><li>&nbsp;Ensure all fundraising activities comply with CRA regulations, gift-acceptance policies, and ethical standards.</li></ul>Fundraising &amp; Sustainability Support<ul><li>Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and community stakeholders.</li><li>Contribute to the organization’s financial sustainability by actively supporting fundraising initiatives. Green Thumbs Growing Kids (GTGK) has cultivated environmental stewardship by offering hands-on garden and food education to urban children and their communities for over 25 years. We are seeking several passionate and committed volunteers to serve on our Board of Directors!&nbsp;Why join the GTGK Board?&nbsp;Recent winners of the Toronto Community Champion Award, we advocate for a garden in every school! GTGK runs school garden programs that provide all ages and all backgrounds with experiences in growing native tree species in their own mini-nurseries, farming kid-friendly small fruits and vegetables, learning about worm composting, and much, much more! Our work promotes food literacy, provides physical and mental health benefits, and helps kids learn about taking care of the environment in a hands-on way!&nbsp;&nbsp;What will you receive?&nbsp;Joining the GTGK Board means joining a grassroots organization that punches far above its weight! The Young Caregivers Association 
 Established in 2003, the Young Caregivers Association (YCA) has transformed the lives of 
young caregivers, the unseen population of family caregivers. We’re the first organization and 
registered charity in Canada dedicated to supporting young caregivers and their families who 
live in rural and urban communities, while building awareness across Canada. 
 
Young caregivers are children, youth, and young adults ages 5 to 25 who provide care for a 
family member due to a chronic illness, disability, mental health concern, substance misuse, or 
socioeconomic factor (e.g., a language barrier). Young caregivers help their family members in 
various ways by caring for their siblings or providing personal, emotional, or financial support. 
 
We collaborate with community partners to bring specialized programs and expertise to 
professionals and organizations across Canada, giving them the tools they need to positively 
impact children, youth and young adults. 
 
Looking Forward 
Our vision is to see young caregivers and their families recognized, supported, and empowered 
in Ontario so they are all able to achieve their full potential. 
 
 
YCA is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for volunteer Board Members 
to support the strategic oversight of operations while focusing on sustainability, expansion, and 
excellence. The successful candidate is elected for a three-year term. It is expected that Board 
Members will attend regular board meetings and sit on at least one Board committee. Board 
meetings take place monthly in the evening and are held in person and through Zoom. 
Attendance at committee meetings is required. A typical month requires about 10 hours of time.
