About Pleasant Heights After School (PHAS)
PHAS is a purpose-driven, community-centered non-profit dedicated to providing high‑quality, inclusive before‑ and after‑school care for over 200 children and families across 3 community-based locations in Calgary, AB. Through safe environments, caring staff, and enrichment‑focused programming, we strive to support working families and promote positive child development.
We are seeking a Board Chair to lead our volunteer Board of Directors and help guide PHAS through its next chapter of growth, sustainability, and community impact.
This is an opportunity for an experienced leader to make a meaningful difference for families across our community.
Role Purpose
The Board Chair plays a critical leadership role in ensuring strong governance, strategic oversight, and organizational accountability by working closely with the CEO and board members.
PHAS is currently in a period of organizational transition and growth. While the Board of Directors operates in a governance capacity, board leadership may occasionally provide strategic guidance, and transitional support as PHAS continues to strengthen governance structures and operations.
The incoming Board Chair will play an important role in helping guide the Board toward an increasingly strategic governance model while working closely with the CEO to ensure strong oversight, accountability, and long-term success.
