Help Shape a Brighter Future for Vulnerable Youth
Artemis Place
Artemis Place is a holistic and nurturing independent school and program located in Victoria, BC. It supports young women, young parents, and transgender youth aged 15–19 in achieving success in academics, life skills, and personal well-being. Operated by a non-profit society and overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors, Artemis Place has been providing alternative educational programs for youth since 1971. Staff work closely with students and their children to build trusting, caring relationships that respond to individual and community needs, helping youth develop confidence, skills, and knowledge.
The society is committed to adopting decolonizing practices and engaging with the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Artemis Place is a student-centered and integrated support program that empowers vulnerable youth to reconnect with learning, rebuild confidence, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
For over 40 years, the on-site childcare program has been central to Artemis Place’s compassionate culture, enabling young parents to pursue their educational goals while knowing their children are cared for nearby.
Artemis Place’s approach blends academic instruction, mental health support, life skills development, and a deeply caring community. Every decision made within the program directly impacts young people who need a safe, responsive, and empowering place to grow.
