Located in downtown Kitchener, Recycle Cycles is a community bike shop that provides a caring and supportive space where people can access the tools, space, and knowledge they need to fix their own bicycles for free, and access to inexpensive bicycles and parts.Recycle Cycles is a community enterprise project, always working to create a balance between involvement and production. Mentors will also receive training and ongoing support from project staff.&nbsp;About the Project From Survivor to Thriver is a new, transformative initiative that supports immigrant and racialized women survivors of gender-based violence in their journey toward healing, empowerment, and financial independence. The project helps survivors overcome isolation, develop leadership and employment skills, and achieve greater self-sufficiency through a structured mentoring program, skill-building workshops, and employer connections. Mental Health &amp; Justice: Housing Support Services is seeking a full-time Housing Support Worker to provide housing support to individuals aged 16 or older who have a serious mental illness/concurrent disorder, are in conflict with the law, and living in the community. The Housing Support Worker will assist with the securing of appropriate housing within the community, liaise with landlords, and advocate on behalf of clients. Support and instruction will be provided to individuals as needed, to facilitate learning and maintaining activities of daily living which endeavour to prevent future involvement with the criminal justice system and retain housing. The Housing Support Worker will assist clients to develop their strengths, promote wellness and housing stability, and improve their quality of life.QualificationsCandidates must have a university degree/college diploma in social work or social service worker with experience in the mental health field and/or addictions and housing. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of related housing experience and must be registered or eligible for registration in a professional college or association. This position requires a valid driver’s license and the use of a reliable vehicle.
