Jump In as a YSM Special Events/In-A-Pinch Volunteer!
Yonge Street Mission (YSM) walks alongside people and families facing poverty in Toronto. We’d love for you to join us in making a difference – no long-term commitment needed! As a Special Events / In-A-Pinch Volunteer, you can help out in one-day or one-time roles with our Evergreen Kitchen (assisting in preparing and serving nourishing meals), Food Bank (welcoming and guiding visitors; or helping restock food shelves), Double Take Store (unpacking, sorting, and tagging donated store items), and many more short term opportunities.
What You’ll Need:
Computer & Internet: To create your account and sign up for shifts.
Read & Follow Guidelines: Check out YSM’s Volunteer Guidelines and FAQ (on our website).
Team Spirit: Be respectful, work well with others, and help create a welcoming space. Our staff may turn away volunteers whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, or puts others at risk.
Basic English: So you can follow instructions and communicate with the team.
Some Physical Ability: Tasks may involve bending, stretching, or lifting light items (10–20 lbs).
Age: 18 or older.
