Volunteer Type: Hybrid
Location: Online/3333 Finch Ave East.
Volunteer Hours: As required for scheduled events
Volunteers Needed: 1-2
Reports to: Volunteer Services Coordinator or Event Lead
Position Summary:
The Master of Ceremonies Volunteer helps create an organized, welcoming, and engaging experience at SPLC events. The volunteer guides attendees through the event program, introduces speakers and activities, makes announcements, manages transitions, and helps keep the event running on schedule. This position is ideal for a confident and enthusiastic individual who enjoys public speaking and connecting with diverse audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Review the event agenda, script, speaker information, and announcements in advance.
- Attend event briefings, rehearsals, and sound checks when required.
- Welcome attendees and provide an overview of the event.
- Introduce speakers, performers, activities, award presentations, and other program segments.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Confident and comfortable speaking in front of groups.
- Clear verbal communication and strong presentation skills.
- Friendly, energetic, professional, and welcoming personality.
