WHO YOU ARE 
Candidates will have the following qualifications: 
 • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and 3-5 years’ experience in finance, 

accounting, or related commerce field. 
 • Working towards or holding a professional accounting credential (i.e. Chartered Accountant or 

Professional Accounting Designation CPA), is strongly considered as an asset. 
 • Comprehensive understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial

 • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support sound financial planning.

About AIM&nbsp;<a href="https://autisminmind.org/" target="_blank">https://autisminmind.org/</a> Autism In Mind Children’s Charity (AIM) was founded in 2011 by Suki Choi, who aimed to provide children with autism an equal opportunity in life. The charity began with just one child. When Suki first started her daycare business in Markham, she was approached by a family whose son had been on the government waitlist for autism therapy for four years. Moved by their situation, Suki organized a fundraiser. The generous response from the community and daycare parents inspired her to do even more. Suki and a team of volunteers began fundraising on behalf of other local families to help their children access professional therapy. They also organized free Social Saturdays for children with autism. The momentum from these small acts of kindness grew rapidly. Within just a few years, AIM became a registered charity in Canada and emerged as one of the leading service providers for children with autism in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). AIM transitioned from being solely volunteer-driven to a team of over 60 full-time staff members, offering a multidisciplinary approach to providing direct services for families and children with autism. The Director of Finance and Administration is a key member of the leadership team, accountable for the Society’s day-to-day finances and operations, as well as overall financial management. The Director of Finance and Administration reports to the Executive Director, works with all budget holders at the Society, and liaises with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors as needed. The Director of Finance and Administration plays an essential role in fulfilling Ribbon Community’s purpose and values. This is a hands-on, in-person, position for a senior leader interested in supporting and empowering the HIV response in British Columbia.Duties&nbsp;Financial OperationsThe Director of Finance and Administration is responsible to ensure the use of generally accepted accounting principles in day-to-day work of the Society, and the timeliness and accuracy of financial statements, reports, payroll, payables, and other financial tasks.
