About AIM&nbsp;<a href="https://autisminmind.org/" target="_blank">https://autisminmind.org/</a> Autism In Mind Children’s Charity (AIM) was founded in 2011 by Suki Choi, who aimed to provide children with autism an equal opportunity in life. The charity began with just one child. When Suki first started her daycare business in Markham, she was approached by a family whose son had been on the government waitlist for autism therapy for four years. Moved by their situation, Suki organized a fundraiser. The generous response from the community and daycare parents inspired her to do even more. Suki and a team of volunteers began fundraising on behalf of other local families to help their children access professional therapy. They also organized free Social Saturdays for children with autism. The momentum from these small acts of kindness grew rapidly. Within just a few years, AIM became a registered charity in Canada and emerged as one of the leading service providers for children with autism in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). AIM transitioned from being solely volunteer-driven to a team of over 60 full-time staff members, offering a multidisciplinary approach to providing direct services for families and children with autism. Job Summary 

Board Members at Blue Door are passionate community leaders who provide strategic 

oversight, governance, and advocacy to advance the organization’s mission of preventing and 

ending homelessness. They contribute their expertise to support innovative, equity-focused 

solutions in housing, health, and employment, and serve as ambassadors for Blue Door’s vision 

of safe, stable, and supportive communities for all. 


 The Board of Directors Responsibilities: 

 • Determining the mission and purpose of the organization 

 • Overseeing the selection and performance of the CEO. 
 • Ensuring the strategic planning process is thorough and complete, as well as the oversight 

of its implementation by Management. 
 • Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight, risk mitigation, financial management and growth 

strategies. 

 • Enhancing Blue Door’s public image. 
 • Assessing the Boards own performance as the governing body of Blue Door. 
 • Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for the organization and fully engage in 

identifying and securing financial resources and partnerships necessary for Blue Door to 
advance its mission. 

 • Providing a personal financial donation annually that is within the individual Director’s 
means. 

 • Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in person at board meetings. 

 • Participate fully in one or more committees. 
 
Time Commitment 

 • Attend regular board meetings (approximately 11 per year) in-person. The Board typically 
meets on Tuesday evenings, 6:30-8:30 pm. Board meetings are held in person at Blue 


Door’s Construct Training Centre (212 Earl Stewart Dr., Aurora, ON L4G 6V7). While some 
committee meetings may be virtual, Board members are expected to attend regular on-site 
meetings throughout the year. Please note that we are currently seeking individuals based 
in the Greater Toronto Area or those able to reliably attend in-person meetings. 

 • Participate in a minimum of one Board Committee, meeting approximately 8 times 
annually. 

 • One Years' notice of meetings is provided to the Board of Directors. 
 • Board members must commit to a three (3) year term renewable maximum of up to two 

times. 
 • One Annual Board retreat, generally this is a Saturday in the month of May. This meeting is 

in person and may not have a virtual option available. 

 • Optional and appreciated participation in volunteer, donor and public events

 • Lived and living experience with poverty, homelessness, housing-insecure related issues is

Attention Greater Toronto and York Area Residents! &nbsp;DMRF Canada is thrilled to share an exciting fundraising opportunity through Ontario Charitable Gaming Association's program&nbsp;Charitable Gaming Community Good&nbsp;with Bingo World and Gaming Richmond Hill, and the City of Richmond Hill. By volunteering your time, you'll help DMRF Canada earn a portion of the funds raised during the Bingo events. With several successful sessions already held, we’re off to a fantastic start, raising over $54,000 for dystonia research and support programs.&nbsp;Volunteering Details:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul>	<li>	Shift Duration:&nbsp;Each volunteer shift will last 2 hours.&nbsp;	</li></ul><ul>	<li>	Funds Raised: Each event will generate approximately $3,000 for dystonia research and support programs.&nbsp;	</li></ul><ul>	<li>	Commitment: We are seeking volunteers who can participate every month for at least six months.&nbsp;&nbsp;	</li></ul><ul>	<li>	Requirements: Volunteers are expected to act in a way that builds public trust and confidence in the Foundation. You do not need to have dystonia to volunteer. Volunteers should be able to walk or stand for their 2-hour shift and be capable of tucking in chairs. Fairy Lake Gardens Coffee Club Volunteer

Established in 2016, Fetch + Releash is a volunteer run dog rescue dedicated to saving dogs in need. Our foster dogs come from a variety of different backgrounds such as pounds and shelters, strays and surrendered pets, both locally and abroad. Through our network of volunteers, foster homes, trainers and veterinarians, we strive to give every dog the loving forever family they deserve. &nbsp;As a foster-based dog rescue, our foster dogs live in private homes across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) where they receive the love and attention they need to prepare them for adoption. Our Mission Adoption By collaborating with local and international communities, our mission is to save dogs in danger of homelessness, abuse, neglect or euthanasia.
