About Enchanted Hope Foundation

Enchanted Hope Foundation is a Canadian nonprofit creating meaningful experiences and resources for children facing cancer, NF and other serious illnesses.

Through our Enchanted Hope Collection of original children’s books and character plushies, along with our Kindness Cards program, we aim to bring representation, comfort, imagination and hope to children and families during incredibly difficult experiences.

As we grow into 2027, we are building sustainable funding to expand our programs, create new stories and reach more children and families.

About the Role

We are looking for a Grant Research & Writing Volunteer to help identify funding opportunities and support the development of strong grant applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in grant writing, proposal development, research or nonprofit fundraising who wants to use their skills to support a meaningful cause.

The successful volunteer will work closely with Enchanted Hope Foundation leadership to identify opportunities that align with our programs and funding priorities.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your experience and interests, you may:

● Research grants, foundations, corporate giving programs and community funding opportunities

● Identify funding opportunities that align with Enchanted Hope Foundation’s mission and programs

● Research eligibility requirements, deadlines and application criteria

● Maintain a grant opportunity and deadline calendar

● Assist with preparing grant applications and funding proposals

● Draft and edit grant narratives, project descriptions and organizational information

● Help develop compelling descriptions of our programs and their impact

● Assist with grant budgets and supporting documentation

● Gather information and materials required for applications

● Track submitted applications and outcomes

● Help prepare grant reports and follow-up documentation when required

● Research new funding opportunities as Enchanted Hope Foundation’s programs grow

● Work with leadership to identify specific projects and funding needs that may be appropriate for grant applications

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

● Strong in written communication

● Detail-oriented and organized

● Comfortable conducting research

● Able to work independently and meet deadlines

● Passionate about helping children and families

● A strong storyteller who can communicate the impact of a program clearly

● Comfortable working with documents, spreadsheets and online research

● Reliable and able to follow through on commitments

Experience with grant writing, proposal writing, fundraising, nonprofit organizations, research or program development is an asset.

Students or professionals looking to build nonprofit grant-writing experience are also welcome to apply.

Commitment

We are looking for someone who can commit approximately 3–5 hours per month, with additional time around specific grant deadlines.

This is a volunteer position. There is no requirement to personally donate to the Foundation.
