Located in downtown Kitchener, Recycle Cycles is a community bike shop that provides a caring and supportive space where people can access the tools, space, and knowledge they need to fix their own bicycles for free, and access to inexpensive bicycles and parts.Recycle Cycles is a community enterprise project, always working to create a balance between involvement and production. We host and assist all people who come into the space, building trust and relationships while also holding the boundaries of the space in a thoughtful and caring way. Volunteers are the heart of our project, and we work with a diverse team of volunteers who join us each day to share their skills and learn new ones. Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Sorting and Organizing: Sort, fold, and organize donated clothing and accessories to ensure they are clean, presentable, and easy to access for clients.</li><li>Client Assistance: Help clients select clothing items, providing a positive and respectful experience during their visit.</li><li>Donation Processing: Accept and process incoming donations, ensuring all items meet quality standards before being displayed.</li><li>Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the clothing bank area, to ensure a welcoming environment.</li><li>Team Collaboration: Work closely with other volunteers and staff to coordinate activities and improve the overall operation of the clothing bank.</li><li>Community Engagement: Participate in outreach efforts to promote the clothing bank and encourage donations from the community.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li><li>Compassionate and non-judgmental attitude toward individuals in need.</li><li>Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Previous volunteer or customer service experience is a plus</li></ul>Commitment: We are currently volunteering for the clothing bank on Tuesdays from 11am to 4pm.&nbsp; We ask for a minimum commitment of 5 hours / week .One Tuesday is donation sorting and the other Tuesday is the Clothing Bank-11am to 1pm : setting up / lunch-1-3pm : sorting or clothing bank activites3-4pm : packing up Benefits:<ul><li>Gain valuable experience in community service and nonprofit operations.</li><li>Make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families in need.</li><li>Meet new people and build connections within the community.</li></ul>Application Process: To apply, please contact Karen at&nbsp;<a href="mailto:clothingbankvolunteers@gmail.com" target="_blank">clothingbankvolunteers@gmail.com</a>&nbsp;.&nbsp; A resume is required. &nbsp;
