Established in 2016, Fetch + Releash is a volunteer run dog rescue dedicated to saving dogs in need. Our foster dogs come from a variety of different backgrounds such as pounds and shelters, strays and surrendered pets, both locally and abroad. The Historical Data and Storytelling Team Lead is responsible for overseeing historical data management and 
storytelling initiatives within the Canadian Pride Historical Society. This role includes supervising key team 
members, managing data systems, supporting oral history projects, and ensuring ethical and inclusive practices in 
all historical documentation efforts. This role requires a time commitment of approximately 8-10 hours per 
month, with a flexible schedule. 


Duties &amp; Responsibilities 

 • Supervise and support the Data Entry Coordinator and Sr. Oral History Coordinator in their respective 
roles. 

 • Manage and oversee the Pride Information Management System (PIMS) to ensure accurate and secure 
data collection, storage, and retrieval. 

 • Support the Sr. Oral History Coordinator in planning, conducting, and archiving oral history projects, 
including interviews and historical documentation. 

 • Facilitate collaboration with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance storytelling 
initiatives and promote inclusivity. 

 • Ensure ethical practices, confidentiality, and diversity are upheld in all aspects of data management and

Le ou la Chef d’équipe de la gestion des données historiques et de la narration est responsable de la gestion des 
données historiques et des initiatives de narration au sein de la Société Historique de la Fierté Canadienne. Ce 
rôle comprend la supervision des membres clés de l’équipe, la gestion des systèmes de données, le soutien aux 
projets d’histoire orale et la garantie de pratiques éthiques et inclusives dans la documentation historique. Ce 
rôle nécessite un engagement de temps d’environ 8 à 10 heures par mois, avec un horaire flexible. 

Tâches et responsabilités : 

 • Superviser et soutenir le Coordinateur de saisie de données et le Coordonnateur principal de l’histoire 
orale dans leurs rôles respectifs. 

 • Gérer et superviser le Système de gestion de l’information sur la Fierté (PIMS) pour assurer une collecte, 
un stockage et une récupération des données précis et sécurisés.

Are you an HR Professional skilled in Employee and Labour Relations who thrives in a fast-paced environment? In this 
dynamic and engaging role, you will be responsible for evaluating and providing guidance and advice to all levels of the 
organization on employee and labour relations, investigation and performance management. You will also play an active 
role in Health and Safety, Disability Management, leading, advising and educating on best practices, and keeping up to 
date on legislation. As part of an amazing and collaborative team, you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and support 
other areas of our HR operations. This position will work alongside 2 Senior Managers, Employee and Labour Relations 
and a Human Resources Coordinator – Employee and Labour Relations.

What You Will Do: 
 
1. Employee and Labour Relations 

 • Acts as the contact person for management for interpretation and administration of the Collective Agreement and 
Fred Victor (FV) policies, educating, coaching and providing counseling to FV management in order to develop and 
maintain positive employee and labour relations across Fred Victor. 

 • Advises management on FV policies and best practices to resolve labour and employee relations issues. 
 • Categorizes and keeps records of labour and employee relations issues/decisions for future improvement and 

collective bargaining. 
 • Provides labour relations support, including facilitating meetings and guiding managers in preparing 

correspondence related to grievances and investigation outcomes. 
 • Participates in the Labour-Management Committee as required.

2. Investigation and Performance Management 

 • Acts as the contact person for employee complaints and grievances; advises management and develops 
subsequent steps that may or may not involve investigations to resolve the issues in a timely manner. 

 • Supports management in the investigation process and provides guidance on all record keeping along the process, 
including investigation reports and outcome letters. 

 • Develops and maintains best practices in performance management; advises and supports management for issues 
that require performance management. 

 • Proactively develops, maintains and accurately tracks LR/ER metrics, including complaints, grievances, disciplines, 
performance management, etc.; identifies themes and trends and provides analysis to senior management to 
support better outcomes and reduce risk. 

 
3. Health and Safety 

 • Provides guidance to management members on health and safety issues with impact on employees; e.g., 
workplace injuries and their root causes and prevention. 

 • Oversees and directs the HR Coordinator on the tracking and maintaining records of routine health and safety 
compliances; e.g., JHSC members, meetings, workplace inspections. 

 • Generates reports reflecting FV health and safety key performance indices; e.g., workplace injuries, WSIB cases. 
 
4. Disability Management 

 • Manages work related and non-work related illness/injuries and return to work process, including the timely 
completion of required documentation. 

 • Effectively manages LTD claims and process. 
 • Advises managers on best practices for all work-related injuries/illness. 
 • Advises and assists managers on requests for accommodation and assists in the accommodation process where 

required. 
 • Reviews the trends in FV workplace injuries and illness and provides recommendations for improving staff 

wellness. 
 
5. Policies and practices 

 • Follows changes in applicable government legislation and works with the HR team to ensure FV is compliant in all 
legislative requirements. 

 • Participates on the Human Resources Committee; reviews and updates FV policies and practices as directed by 
the committee. 

 • Conducts research into human resources and labour relations issues and trends as required and applies relevant 
information to update Fred Victor policies and practices. 

 
6. Other 

 • Documents all HR activities as required. 
 • Manages correspondence, information and all confidential matters with discretion. 
 • Acts as back-up to other HR team members, and performs other duties as assigned by the Director of People and 

Culture. 
 
What You Bring to the Team: 

 • University degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or related education, ideally possessing 
or working toward CHRL designation. 

 • Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of employee and labour relations. 
 • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislations and best practices in employee and 

labour relations, occupational health and safety, compensation, job evaluation, HRIS, training and performance 
management; e.g., Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Act, Ontario Health &amp; Safety 
Act, Accessibility of Ontarians with Disability Act, etc.

 • Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft programs. 
 • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to influence others (without having direct authority over them) to accomplish 

objectives; demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills. 
 • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with staff, managers, professional 

services and the public. 
 • Sound judgment and good problem solving skills. 
 • Highly developed ability to handle highly confidential information with the appropriate discretion, sensitivity and 

professional manner. 
 • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and demands with varying levels of complexity, set priorities and meet 

timelines. 
 • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and administrative skills. 
 • Ability to respect and work with a range of people within a multicultural environment. 
 • Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing low income and homeless people.

Compensation and Benefits: 

 • For the Senior Manager, Employee and Labour Relations position, Fred Victor offers a salary range of $77,161.50 
to $88,608 per year. 

 • 4 weeks of vacation to start + 1 float day
