The Role: 
GCA is currently seeking Instructor Therapists who will work directly with children with ASD and their families in 
an ABA Classroom or in IBI groups. Instructor Therapist duties include but are not limited to, conducting 
assessments, writing, implementing, and monitoring behaviour plans, data collection and display, as well as 
training and supporting caregivers. 

What your Day Looks Like: 
Overall, the Instructor Therapist is responsible for providing direct service in an ABA Classroom/IBI groups (under 
the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst) in a one-on-on and/or in a group setting to include but not 
limited to the following: 

 • Implementing programs according to the treatment plan
 • Carrying a caseload
 • Providing input into each child’s curriculum
 • Addressing personal care requirements of the child during each session
 • Monitoring and tracking behavioural data/follow behavioural protocols
 • Preparing teaching materials
 • Recording and graphing data, writing reports and progress notes and flagging exceptional circumstances

as well as the need for changes to the program plan
 • Participating in the treatment planning process with parents and relevant others

It is an intensive and integrated short-term community-based service that provides clinical intervention and skill building for youths (13-17 years), and their caregivers, with complex mental health needs such as anxiety, depression, self-harm/suicidal ideation, emotional dysregulation, eating disorder symptoms and psychosis.&nbsp;Under the general direction of the Director of Mental Health Services and the immediate supervision of the Bridges Program Coordinator, the Youth and Family Counsellor is responsible for the provision of case management, intake and psychotherapy services to youth and families in accordance with the policies and directives established by the YSB and its partnering agencies.What you will do:<ul>	<li>Deliver&nbsp;intensive&nbsp;individual,&nbsp;family and group counselling,&nbsp;crisis management, intake&nbsp;and&nbsp; assessment&nbsp;services&nbsp;to&nbsp;clients&nbsp;as established by the Bridges interdisciplinary&nbsp;team and program demands.</li>	<li>Perform case management functions which may include using an integrated plan of care process.&nbsp;</li>	<li>Administer approved screening tools with clients.</li>	<li>Support clients and their caregivers to identify counselling goals and strategies for goal&nbsp;achievement.</li>	<li>Utilize recognized interventions to support client in the achievement of established&nbsp;goals.</li>	<li>Advocate with and on behalf of clients as&nbsp;required.</li>	<li>Attend and participate in supervision and clinical group&nbsp;supervisions.</li>	<li>Participate in training to ensure ongoing development of skills and abilities – including YSB&nbsp;required training.</li>	<li>Ensure that the electronic client file remains current within established guidelines, policies and procedures.&nbsp;</li>	<li>Meet standards defined in The Bridges Program Procedural Manual / Policy and Procedures Manual.</li>	<li>Contribute to program and services development and&nbsp;evaluation.</li>	<li>Ensure timely submission of all administrative work in accordance with CRPO/OCSWSSW and YSB&nbsp;best&nbsp;practices.</li>	<li>Collaborate and network with community agencies as appropriate and as&nbsp;requested.</li>	<li>Ensure familiarity with all pertinent&nbsp;legislation.</li>	<li>Follow safe work practices as established by the YSB and the Bridges program.</li></ul>This opportunity may be right fit for you if you have:(The qualifications are appended to the job description and are not intended to be part of the job description)<ul>	<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work/Counselling Psychology or relevant field is essential</li>	<li>Membership in good standing with a college authorized to practice Psychotherapy; RP’s grand-parented into CRPO will be considered&nbsp;</li>	<li>Master’s Degree in Social Work/Counselling Psychology or relevant field is an asset</li>	<li>Minimum two years related experience in providing individual,&nbsp;family&nbsp;and&nbsp;group&nbsp;counselling services to youth and their families and case management.</li>	<li>Exposure to working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression and emotional&nbsp;dysregulation</li>	<li>Experience delivering family-based counselling services using a client-centred and collaborative approach and a systemic perspective.&nbsp;</li>	<li>Knowledge of recognized therapeutic approaches including MI, CBT, DBT and trauma-informed&nbsp;</li>	<li>Capacity to work using a DBT approach will be considered a significant asset&nbsp;</li>	<li>Demonstrated ability to assess need for multidisciplinary support or other resources&nbsp;</li>	<li>Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills both autonomously and in a context of an interdisciplinary team&nbsp;</li>	<li>Oral and written fluency in English is essential</li>	<li>Oral and written fluency in French is essential</li>	<li>Availability and ability to work evenings, flexible&nbsp;hours.</li>	<li>Flexibility and comfortability in working at various locations which may involve local travel&nbsp;</li>	<li>Demonstrated computer&nbsp;skills</li>	<li>Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle</li></ul>Disclaimer:This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
