WeConnect Mental Health and Wellness Group Facilitator
The WeConnect Mental Health & Wellness Program is currently recruiting new volunteers for its upcoming Spring Training. The training program, “Fundamentals of Mental Health and Group Facilitation” is scheduled to begin on April 22 for 9 weeks on Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at our Whitby location (20 Sunray Street).
This excellent training program equips volunteers with the essential skills and knowledge needed to support WeConnect clients. Volunteers are offered opportunities to build their skill sets and learn more about emotional support, group facilitation, and mental health.
The role of WeConnect volunteers is to co-facilitate support groups for clients experiencing emotional or mental health challenges. These support groups are offered free of charge to individuals 16 and older and focus on depression and anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic pain, coping strategies, wellness practices, and social connection.
