The Chair of Strategic Business and Fund Development provides strategic leadership for VMPC’s fundraising, sponsorship, and grant initiatives. In this role, you will work to diversify VMPC’s revenue sources, strengthen partnerships, and ensure long-term financial sustainability. This role will also help to develop and lead a volunteer committee that supports the identification of funding opportunities and works in collaboration with the board executive and relevant portfolio chairs for the development and submission of funding proposals. This volunteer role is ideal for a mission-driven professional with experience in business development, nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, or corporate partnerships.

Advocacy Position Overview Advocacy volunteers are dedicated voices for the six million people in Canada living with arthritis. They help raise awareness and promote understanding by supporting public education efforts, sharing arthritis-related messages through social media, writing letters, connecting with community leaders, and taking part in consultations or other important calls to action that support people affected by arthritis.Time Commitment Advocacy volunteers typically contribute 1–2 hours per month. This is a flexible role with no fixed schedule. Join our 2026 Second Harvest National Youth Council!&nbsp;In January 2026, Second Harvest will launch its 2nd annual National Youth Council, bringing together passionate young leaders, ages 18 to 25, from across Canada who are committed to tackling food waste. This is your chance to expand your network, access mentorship, and develop vital skills while sharing your unique perspectives on critical issues linking food waste and climate change. Through research, advocacy and awareness building projects, the council will work to engage youth audiences in conversations around food waste reduction.&nbsp;As a member of the council, you’ll inspire action among your peers, through research, advocacy and awareness building projects and support Second Harvest in its goal of keeping good food out of landﬁlls.&nbsp;Who We Are:&nbsp;Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue organization and expert in perishable food recovery. We rescue surplus, unsold food from across the supply chain and redistribute it to not-for-proﬁts across the country to feed communities.
