A Brief Overview &nbsp;Reporting to the Manager, Inclusive Research in the Vice-Principal Research Portfolio and receiving strategic support from the Office of the Vice-Principal (Culture, Equity and Inclusion), the Research Advisor, Inclusion and Community Engagement plays an integral role in supporting inclusive and community-based research; and is responsible for contributing to the University's overall Indigenization-Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility and Anti-Racism (I-EDIAA) objectives. This position provides expert advice and education to address I-EDIAA requirements in provincial, national and international funding competitions, and serves as a primary contact and strategic resource for researchers to integrate I-EDIAA into research practice and research design. The Research Advisor, Inclusion and Community Engagement leads training, education and professional development activities to support the implementation of I-EDIAA initiatives within the Queen's research community. The Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRLSC) provides a broad range of free legal assistance to individuals

is seeking applications for a Law Clerk / Human Rights Representative (HRR) to carry out and conduct the 
enforcement of Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO) orders and as a member of a Legal Team to provide in 
depth legal services to individuals who have experienced discrimination, in respect of applications and potential 
applications to the HRTO. 

Qualifications include the ability to interpret and communicate Ontario human rights legislation (Human Rights 
Code), enforcement of orders legislation and rules in Ontario, including the Rules of Civil Procedure, the Rules of 
the Small Claims Court, and/or other social justice legislation such as employment standards, landlord/tenant and 
workers’ compensation. The successful applicant will have experience working with individual and systemic 
principles and issues relating to human rights, excellent knowledge of community resources, the effective ability 
to communicate clearly and sensitively with diverse communities and will have sound interviewing, listening, 
explaining and counseling / representation skills. Computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and 
experience using a case management or data base system are required. 

Full Job Description 

This is a full-time, contract position until August 2026, and is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit. This position 
offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring two (2) days in the Toronto office and three (3) days of remote work from 
home each week. This arrangement may be subject to change as part of the HRLSC’s Recovery Plan process. 
The HRLSC provides a competitive total compensation package. The salary range for this position is $65,586 - 
$96,037. The usual hours of work are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Law Clerk & Human Rights Representative

The Centre for Refugee Children—a partnership project of Christie Refugee Welcome Centre and FCJ Refugee Centre—provides direct settlement services to unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) in Ontario, with a specialized focus on ensuring access to justice for refugee and migrant children and youth who are navigating the refugee claim process or other immigration proceedings. In addition to serving UASC across the province, accompanied refugee and migrant children who have exceptional legal and settlement needs may also be eligible to access services and support from the Centre.Through its establishment, the Centre for Refugee Children aims to strengthen connections with community organizations and government divisions to improve immigration, child welfare and settlement outcomes for children, youth and families supported by the project. The Centre also engages in public education and advocacy initiatives in response to issues impacting unaccompanied and separated children in Ontario and throughout Canada.The Centre for Refugee Children has an opportunity for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Child Representative Staff&nbsp;to join our team.Reporting directly to the Centre’s Director and the Centre’s Policy &amp; Advocacy Coordinator, this role will operate within the Centre’s Child Representative Program to provide direct support to children who are navigating immigration legal proceedings, including refugee claim hearings and admissibility hearings before the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) as well as front-end interviews and immigration applications.Regular work hours will be Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. implementation plans. 
 
Network Development 
The VP Strategy will oversee BBBSC’s Network Development services to ensure that Agencies have 
the support that they need to thrive, grow and demonstrate measurable outcomes. This includes 
evolving our performance data collection, analysis, and dashboard capabilities in order to provide 
advisory services to members. It will also include enhanced learning and development options and

 FONCTIONS ET RESPONSABILITÉS 
Nous recherchons une personne dirigeante qui aime travailler avec diverses parties prenantes dans 
le but de soutenir le changement au sein de la fédération. Ce poste requiert une personne dirigeante 
axée sur les données, capable d’écoute empathique et dotée d’un esprit créatif, qui a déjà mené à bien 
des projets et obtenu des résultats positifs à long terme. Il s’agit d’un poste salarié relevant de la 
présidente et cheffe de la direction et faisant partie de l’équipe de la haute direction. La vice-
présidente ou le vice-président, Stratégie a les responsabilités suivantes : 


 
Élaboration et suivi du plan stratégique 
2026 sera une année stimulante, marquée par l’élaboration du prochain plan stratégique de GFGSC. 
En étroite collaboration avec la cheffe de la direction, le conseil d’administration, l’équipe de la haute 
direction et le réseau d’organismes, la vice-présidente ou le vice-président, Stratégie participera à 
l’élaboration d’un plan stratégique pluriannuel visant à permettre à chaque enfant au Canada qui a 
besoin de services de mentorat d’y avoir accès. 
 
Évolution des programmes et du modèle opérationnel 
GFGSC évalue actuellement ses programmes et son modèle de prestation de services afin de 
déterminer ce qui servira le mieux les enfants qui ont accès à ses programmes de mentorat. La vice-
présidente ou le vice-président, Stratégie dirigera ce travail, qui comprend l’analyse de la situation 
actuelle et la présentation d'arguments en faveur du changement, y compris la justification, les coûts 
et les plans de mise en Åuvre. 
 
Développement du réseau 
La vice-présidente ou le vice-président, Stratégie supervisera les services de développement du 
réseau de GFGSC afin de s’assurer que les organismes disposent du soutien nécessaire pour 
prospérer, croître et obtenir des résultats tangibles. Il s’agira notamment d’améliorer nos capacités 
en matière de collecte et d’analyse des données sur le rendement et de notre tableau de bord afin de 
fournir des services consultatifs aux membres. Cela comprendra également l’amélioration des 
options et des ressources en matière d’apprentissage et de perfectionnement. 
 

 Gestion de projets de transformation et harmonisation interfonctionnelle 
La vice-présidente ou le vice-président, Stratégie développera la capacité de GFGSC à gérer des 
projets d’intégration commerciale d’envergure, ce qui comprend la mise sur pied d’équipes internes, 
la mobilisation des organismes membres de GFGSC et des équipes nationales dans les domaines du 
développement du réseau, des technologies de l’information, des opérations, des communications et

 • Surveillance stratégique : Responsabilité du service pour la réalisation des objectifs, des 
stratégies et du rendement global de l’organisation. 

 • Planification stratégique : Responsabilité de la définition et de la mise en Åuvre des buts, des 
objectifs et des stratégies liés au portefeuille. Crée les plans de projet, les met en Åuvre et en

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will work closely with the Dechinta community to advance strategic priorities and bring the organization’s vision to life.Dechinta is at an important crossroad in its organizational journey, and the new Executive Director will be key in supporting the organization in securing new short and long term funding relationships and exploring what’s needed to further deepen the Dechinta’s impacts.You will use your people centred approach, deep listening skills, and draw on your past experience and networks to build the reach of Dechinta in the north, including with various levels of government and post-secondary educational institutions. As a key ambassador and representative of the organization, you will continue to raise the organization’s profile and deepen engagement with Elders, community members, academic &amp; research partners, funding partners, students, and all of Dechinta’s key audiences and constituencies.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Strategic Leadership &amp; Governance<ul><li>Provide strategic leadership and direction aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.</li><li>In partnership with the Board of Directors, collaborate on the development of the strategic plan while ensuring budget, employees and organizational goals/objectives are aligned to mission and purpose.</li><li>Oversee the development and operationalization of multi-year strategic and annual work plans.</li><li>Cultivate a high trust and transparent working relationship with the Board with open communication about organizational performance and impact against stated goals.&nbsp;</li><li>Working with the Board, to help support the development of an engaged Board, that is representative of the community Dechinta serves.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop risk mitigation strategies and advise the Board on organizational liability and emerging risks.</li></ul>Culture and relationship building:&nbsp;<ul><li>Cultivate and centre northern Indigenous knowledge, values, and laws into how the organization does its work and delivers programming so that the connection to culture and community is strong and resilient.&nbsp;</li><li>Build meaningful, respectful, and collaborative relationships with northern Indigenous Elders, knowledge keepers, and communities to ensure that programs are informed by northern Indigenous values, principles, and cultural practices.</li><li>Create a nurturing and collaborative environment that builds intercultural understanding and an appreciation for differences&nbsp;</li></ul>Financial &amp; Operations&nbsp; Oversight&nbsp;<ul><li>Implement strategies that build the organizational capacity to achieve established goals and objectives while managing for future growth.</li><li>Guide organizational policy and framework development to support a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture where all employees feel welcomed and valued.</li><li>Develop and implement appropriate fiscal, operational, funding, marketing, human resources, and technology strategies across the organization so that there is organizational capacity to achieve established goals and objectives.</li><li>Oversee the financial status of the organization, developing short and long-term financial plans that support the growth of the organization. Develop and monitor the budget, develop appropriate strategies to mitigate risks and address issues. Ensure sound financial controls in place and ensure the organization is operating in a manner that is aligned to mission, purpose while supporting the needs of the programs, faculty, and employees.</li><li>Ensure compliance with CRA, Corporations Canada, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.</li><li>Lead performance management, mentorship, and development plans for direct reports.</li></ul>Strategic partnerships<ul><li>Identify, build, and leverage strategic relationships and partnerships that enable Dechinta to achieve its mission and purpose.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Collaborate with post-secondary institutions to develop highly relevant and timely programs that result in a steady growth of student enrollment.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Secure, sustain and expand revenue generating partnerships that support existing and future program delivery.&nbsp;</li><li>Build and galvanize networks of support and change coalitions on policy issues that have high impact on northern issues related to Dechinta research.</li><li>Identify and develop relationships with potential community and funders, formalizing partnership opportunities on initiatives that advance shared goals.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp;Act as a public ambassador and spokesperson for Dechinta&nbsp;</li><li>Lead the development of public-facing communications that elevate awareness of the organization's work.</li></ul>Program &amp; Impact Oversight<ul><li>Support the Faculty team in challenging colonizing practices that have influenced research and education</li><li>Support the creation of relevant, dynamic and engaging land-based and experiential learning solutions that build confidence, capabilities and resiliency of students, communities, and Elders.</li><li>Support the Director of Programs with developing and implementing programs that support a positive student experience and are complimentary and aligned to the academic program.&nbsp;</li><li>Stay attuned to sectoral trends and work with the team to identify future programming opportunities and academic programming priorities.&nbsp;</li><li>Cultivate partnerships with a wide range of constituency groups and partners to amplify program impact.</li></ul>Job Requirements:<ul><li>A deep understanding and knowledge of social, economic and political contexts that impact northern Indigenous communities</li><li>Strong knowledge of cultural safety, trauma-informed approaches, and an ability to work closely with diverse Indigenous communities&nbsp;</li><li>Prior experience in a leadership capacity in a non-profit/organization</li><li>Demonstrated success in supporting organizations navigating change, including overcoming deficits and loss of major funding sources</li><li>Demonstrated success in developing and implementing fundraising strategies</li><li>Strong ability to build relationships &amp;
