Education and Qualifications: 


 • Preferred qualifications include a master’s level post-secondary degree in Psychology, Psychiatric

(CNO); College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO); College of Physicians and Surgeons of

CASE MANAGER – CRISIS (50-25)

Purpose of the Position: The Case Manager is responsible for carrying out case management, psychosocial 
rehabilitation, crisis intervention and treatment for individuals living with mental illness. This team member has 
the clinical skills and experience necessary to assess, plan, develop, co-ordinate, and provide treatment by 
way of rehabilitative and supportive services in a multi-disciplinary environment. The Case Manager develops 
supports and opportunities for clients to increase or develop new skills needed to support success and 
satisfaction in their daily living, learning, working and social environments with the least amount of professional 
intervention required. This team member will be an expert in engaging the community and developing a 
network of landlords, community service providers and clients in the District of Muskoka. 
 
Education and Qualifications: 

 • Bachelor’s degree in a human service/health science discipline relevant to the position. Equivalency 
may be considered for a combination of educational experiences. Examples of equivalency include; 

o Mental Health related diploma with relevant work experience PLUS registration with a regulated 
health professional college 

 • One year of experience working with persons who have mental illness and/or developmental disability 
and/or substance use issues preferred, plus experience in providing one or more of the following; 

o supportive counselling 
o case management 

o crisis intervention 
 • Manage internal and external relationships, to have and demonstrate empathy and compassion, to be 

aware of emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and the understanding of the feelings, ideas and 
beliefs of others. 

 • Familiarity with the Residential Tenancy Act. 
 • Indigenous cultural awareness and education is an asset. 
 • Ability to work autonomously as well as cooperatively within a team environment in a rural setting 
 • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills 
 • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, the Internet, and data management software 
 • A willingness to serve clients within the communities of the District of Muskoka and Parry Sound 
 • Bilingual in French/English language considered an asset 
 • May be required to transport staff and/or clients of the Agency and therefore you are to hold a valid 

Ontario G or G2 driver’s license, have a reliable means of transportation and appropriate insurance for 
work purposes on your vehicle with a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability coverage.

Salary scale: $29.26 – $38.32 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience

Role Overview 
As one of the largest faculty and staff associations in BC, the BCIT Faculty &amp; Staff Association (FSA) is a membership-driven, 

certified trade union that represents full-time and part-time technological faculty and staff at the British Columbia Institute 

of Technology (BCIT). Through committee representation, negotiations with BCIT, and dedicated advocacy, we strive to 

advance the employment interests of our members and improve working conditions across BCIT. 

We are hiring a full-time Information Officer (IO) for our office at the BCIT Burnaby campus located on unceded 
Indigenous land belonging to the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xÊ·mÉÎ¸kwÉyÌÉm (Musqueam), 
SkwxwuÌ7mesh (Squamish), and sÉlilwÉtaÉ¬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. 
 

The IO is responsible for records and information management at the Association. This position is responsible for 
designing, auditing, transforming, analyzing, and dashboarding BCIT and FSA data, as well as developing and 
administering the systems used to that end. This data includes confidential FSA membership data subject to the Personal 
Information Protection Act (PIPA). The IO reports to the Associate Executive Director and ensures that the Association is 
apprised of key membership trends and other data profiles needed as determined by the functions and strategic 
priorities of the Association. 
 

Duties: 
 • Generally responsible for the overall and strategic information management systems in a manner which is 

secure, sustainable, and efficient. 

 • Develops systems for gathering, organizing, and analyzing information needed for all Association functions 
including labour relations, collective bargaining, member engagement, communications, government relations, 
strategic planning, governance, and administration. 

 • Works with BCIT personnel on the delivery of regular reports on the Association’s membership. 

 • Generates data and, if required, provides analysis for reports and publications and to support decision-making 
by other staff and elected personnel. 

 • Identifies the need for and develops new spreadsheets, databases, reports, and other tools/platforms to 
support these and other functions of the Association 

 • Assists staff and elected colleagues with critical and analytical reports. 

 • Identifies trends in enquiries and recommends new information resources to meet Association and membership 
needs. 

 • Develops operational standards and procedures in consultation with stakeholders. 


Qualities We’re Looking For 
 • Understanding of, and commitment to, trade-union principles and public, post-secondary institutions. 

 • A credential in Information Management, Records Management, Development, Business Analytics, or relevant 
training, and two or more years related employment experience with direct responsibility for managing 
information systems 

 • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365. 


 • Advanced knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL) and dashboarding tools (e.g. Excel, 
Tableau, PowerBI). 

 • Knowledge of data analysis techniques. 

 • Excellent analytic and synthetic reasoning. 

 • High degree of discretion and confidentiality. 

 • Proven project management and time management skills. 

 • Good working knowledge of general office procedures. 

 • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to organize the work of colleagues. 

 • Experience in a Labour Relations setting and working with Human Resource Information Systems preferred 

 • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

 • Ability to work effectively and co-operatively with others in a unionized setting in a high-volume, high-stress office 
environment.

This is a full-time, regular position. The salary for the position is between $78,582 and $90,000 with placement based on

Information Officer

Program Coordinator – Region of Waterloo (one year contract) 

About Toronto Cat Rescue: 

Toronto Cat Rescue (TCR) is a volunteer-driven, registered charity that rescues over 2500 cats 
each year through the efforts of over 1,000 dedicated volunteers. TCR is not a shelter, but a 
network of foster homes that stretches throughout the Greater Toronto Area, and Region of 
Waterloo. We take in cats who are then socialized and housed in foster homes until they are 
ready for adoption. 

Reports to: Executive Director 

About the position: 

The Program Coordinator plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of our Region of 
Waterloo (WR) chapter. This hands-on position is responsible for managing the WR volunteer 
centre facility, supporting rescue operations from intake to adoption in the WR area, while 
liaising with staff to standardize protocols. The ideal candidate is highly organized, 
compassionate, and experienced in working with animals and volunteers. 

As an organization with a large volunteer base, this role will be required to work outside of a 
traditional 9 – 5 work week. The demands of the role are greatest in the evenings and 
weekends; however, daytime duties are also required. The selected candidate must be willing to 
work flexible hours. During the busy season, hours worked beyond 37.5 per week will be 
negotiated as lieu time with the ED. 

Key Responsibilities: 

â Volunteer Centre Management: 
 Oversee the daily operations of the volunteer centre, ensuring it is clean, 
well-organized, and welcoming for both volunteers and cats. 

â Cat Intake &amp; Triage: 
 Assess incoming cats for health, behavior, and placement suitability; work with volunteer 
leads and fosters as needed to ensure proper care plans are in place. 
Good comprehension of empirical treatment aligned with rescue/shelter medicine best 
practises 

â Store Placement Coordination: 
 Assist in coordinating the placement and rotation of cats in partner retail locations for 
adoption visibility and care continuity. 


â Volunteer Recruitment &amp; Training: 
 Actively recruit, onboard, and train new volunteers to support various aspects of the 
rescue program, from cat care to administrative support. 

â Data Entry &amp; CRM Management: 
 Accurately input and update cat and volunteer records in the organization’s CRM 
system, ensuring timely follow-ups and reporting. 

â Transportation: 
Coordinate transportation with the assistance of Volunteer drivers to get cats to their next 
destination 

â Team Support: 
 Provide ongoing support to lead volunteers, staff members, and other internal 
stakeholders to maintain high-quality care and smooth program operations. 
 
Qualifications: 

â Post-secondary education in animal care discipline required (i.e. Animal Health 
â Technician or Veterinary Technology program). 
â Experience working or volunteering in animal rescue, shelter, or veterinary settings 

preferred 
â Strong organizational and multitasking skills 
â Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities 
â Proficient in using computers and CRM/database systems, including google suites 
â Ability to handle cats safely and compassionately, including those who may be fearful or 

stressed 
â Comfortable working weekends or evenings as needed 
â Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks related to cat care 
â This position requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation 

Other details 

Full time salary of $52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year commensurate with level of education, 
credentials, and experience. TCR also offers paid vacation and a benefit plan. 

Approximately 20% of this position will occur remotely, and the position shares on-call duties 
with others. On-site work will be required 4 days per week and when there are large rescues, 
events, and other circumstances which include weekend duties. Travel to Toronto will be 
required throughout the year for staff meetings, large intakes, and Events
