EDITORIAL OUTREACH COORDINATOR — VOLUNTEER, FULL-TIME

Organization: Right to Live Canada

Department: Global Narrative Integrity Team

Location: Remote (United States, Canada or Europe)

Time Commitment: Full-time volunteer commitment, 35 hours per week. Duration negotiable, four month minimum.

This is a remote volunteer opportunity with Right to Live Canada, a virtual-office based Canadian non-profit start-up.

------ THE MISSION

Right to Live Canada exists to realize the right to live as a practical, supported, executable choice.

We were founded in response to systemic poverty-driven euthanasia amongst Canadians with disabilities: cases where Canadians choose MAiD because they cannot access the essentials required to continue living. This is a specific form of economic euthanasia: euthanasia where a preferable living future existed, but was not achieved.

That crisis remains our founding application point. It is not the boundary of our work.

Right to Live Canada is building Continuity: the service, financial, technological, and institutional architecture required to keep life connected to preferable living futures.

Our four core areas are:

  • Continuity Service
  • Continuity Insurance
  • Social Brokerage
  • Corporate Farming

Right to Live Canada is a founder-centric, early-stage nonprofit pursuing rapid national and global expansion through volunteer leadership, institutional partnerships, and mission-driven innovation.

------ ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time, volunteer, and remote role for the Editorial Outreach Coordinator within the Global Narrative Integrity Team at Right to Live Canada.

The Editorial Outreach Coordinator supports the Journalist Relations Department by coordinating daily communications with journalists, editors, researchers, and institutional stakeholders. This role prepares briefing notes, distributes evidence packages, tracks correspondence, maintains media databases, and ensures that all outreach activities are documented accurately and professionally.

Working closely with the Journalist Relations Manager, Managing Editor, and Senior Research Manager, the Editorial Outreach Coordinator transforms completed research into concise, accessible communication materials while maintaining consistent engagement with media contacts.

The successful candidate will help coordinate follow-up communications, manage CRM records, organize outreach campaigns, maintain contact databases, and assist with relationship management initiatives that strengthen the organization's reputation as a trusted source of evidence-based information.

As the organization grows, Editorial Outreach Coordinators will become an essential part of a scalable communications system supporting hundreds of journalist interactions annually while maintaining professionalism, consistency, and respect for editorial independence.

------ PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare briefing notes and media background documents.
  • Support journalist outreach campaigns coordinated by the Journalist Relations Manager.

  • Assist in preparing evidence packages for distribution.
  • Maintain accurate records of media engagement and organizational communications.
  • Support departmental documentation and reporting.

  • Monitor outreach metrics and update organizational dashboards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of outreach procedures and communication templates.
  • Participate in daily editorial briefings and weekly departmental meetings.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism in all written communications.

This position serves as the operational backbone of the Editorial Outreach Department, ensuring that journalist engagement remains organized, timely, and supported by accurate evidence.

------ QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Experience in communications, journalism, public relations, customer relationship management, administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience maintaining documentation and communication records.
  • Comfort working remotely with a high degree of ownership.
  • Professional judgment and discretion.
  • Commitment to a full-time volunteer schedule of approximately 35 hours per week.

Preferred

------ TIME COMMITMENT
