Social Media Lead
Social Media Lead
Ripple Foundation is looking for a Social Media Lead to be our voice on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. This is a
hands-on, weekly commitment: you will plan, write, schedule and publish content that gets young writers, their
teachers and their families excited about our programs.
This is a real operating role, not an advisory one. If nothing is posted, nothing is posted. We are a 100% volunteer
team, so please read the commitment section carefully before applying.
What does Ripple Foundation do?
Ripple Foundation empowers children and youth across Canada through free, engaging programs that foster
literacy, creativity, and leadership. From the Kids Write 4 Kids national writing contest to Write It Workshops, Wave
Blog, and the Express Inspire Connect Youth Conference, our initiatives amplify young voices and prepare the next
generation for future success. Learn more at www.ripplefoundation.ca
What you'll be doing:
Typical posting rhythm: 2–3 posts per week on Instagram, and about twice monthly each on Facebook and
LinkedIn, increasing during the Kids Write 4 Kids contest period.
Keep the content calendar current — the coming two weeks are always scheduled and visible to the team.
Write the copy: captions, hashtags, and updates to the social copy deck.
Work with our social media designer to brief and schedule graphics.
Monitor comments and direct messages and respond within 48 hours.
Ramp up coverage around key moments in our program including Kids Write 4 Kids national writing contest, Write
It Workshops, Wave Blog, and Express Inspire Connect Youth Conference.
Attend a 30-minute check-in every two weeks and a strategic marketing team meeting once a month
What we’re looking for:
Demonstrated experience running social accounts for an organization, business, club or campaign — not only
personal accounts.
Strong, clean writing: engaging, on-brand, and grammatically correct.
Comfort with scheduling on Google Spreadsheet and using Google Suite.
Reliability and follow-through in a remote, volunteer-run environment, including responsiveness to email.
Genuine interest in education, literacy and youth development.
Initiative and creativity — you will often be the one deciding what goes out this week.
What’s in it for you?
Ownership of an entire channel strategy for a national charity — a portfolio piece with measurable results behind
it.
Gain valuable experience and skills in social media management and digital marketing.
Direct contribution to youth literacy and creativity across Canada.
Work with a passionate and supportive team.
Flexible hours, fully remote, no travel required.
Volunteer Commitment: 4-6 hours per week. We ask for a one-year commitment, beginning with a 30-day trial
period so both sides can confirm it's a good fit.
