General Office Volunteer - High Intensity (remote) Organization: Right to Live Canada Right to Live Canada | 30+ hrs/week | Volunteer Position------ The Mission Canada is currently facing a human rights crisis of international consequence: poverty-driven disability euthanasia (MAiD). Individuals, blocked by state-enforced poverty, are choosing to end their lives with state assistance due to being unable to access essentials such as medical procedures, supportive housing, or even food. This systemic failure has triggered a United Nations investigation, criticism from the Canadian Human Rights Commission, and global condemnation.Right to Live Canada is engineering the only viable, system-level alternative to this crisis -- Social Brokerage. By creating a pipeline between sources of raw capital and specific one-time support plans ("Stability Mandates") for individuals in the process of applying for MAiD, the organization creates the "viable alternative" that the system itself mandates its assessors to find but does not currently provide. This represents the world's first market-based solution to poverty-driven euthanasia and the creation of a social impact credit system which exchanges philanthropic capital for verified, life-affirming outcomes, akin to carbon credits.Right to Live Canada is currently pre-pilot.------ The Opportunity Right to Live Canada is a start-up non-profit solving economic euthanasia. We are in need of high intensity, committed volunteers who are ready and willing to put in the hard work to &nbsp;advance our work. This means a volunteer load of 30+ hours per week, for a duration up to the volunteer. The only common skill requirement is the ability to work in a remote office environment (Slack, Google Workspace). We will assign you a relevant role based on your resume and skill background.This opportunity would be ideal for those who have the opportunity for sufficient availability (summer break, unemployment, retired, etc) and want utilize their time in an impactful and meaningful way. Our&nbsp;Mentoring with Math Program&nbsp;is designed to strengthen the impact of tutoring by adding in the element of mentorship. Volunteers meet once-a-week for 90 minute sessions during afternoons over a 10 week period, and work on numeracy, activities, and games. No previous experience with math is necessary for volunteers and all training is provided by Big Brothers. This program is offered virtually and in-person in Greater Vancouver. Our Math Mentors are<ul><li>Adults aged 18+, inclusive of male, female, trans, and gender diverse individuals.</li><li>Reliable, consistent, dedicated and respectful of others.</li><li>Available to meet once weekly during weekday afternoons between 4:00pm and 5:30pm for 90-minutes for in-person sessions, or 60 minutes for virtual sessions.</li></ul>Our Mentoring with Math volunteers are asked to enroll in two 8-10 week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program.
