A S2F Virtual Coach plays a significant role in encouraging children weekly to achieve positive change physically, mentally, and emotionally through fitness and literacy. Coaches help build confidence and motivation within children, while reducing learning gaps and developing a lifelong love of learning.We have two online volunteering opportunities:Our Brainworx! is an online afterschool program for students in grades 1-6 and runs twice a week between Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, for 30-40 minutes each session. We focus on physical activity, literacy, and social-emotional development. Each group has 10-12 students and 3-4 coaches. Our Brainworx program has various start times between 3:30pm - 6:30pm EST.The Junior Coach Leadership Program is an online afterschool program for students in grades 7 and 8. It runs on Mondays afterschool for 1 hour and focuses on developing students’ leadership skills, while still incorporating physical activity and literacy. We are always looking for drivers who have good driving records, would like to give back to the community and are reliable and punctual.Please note that this is a volunteer (non-employee) role.Primary Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide local and long-distance transportation for children while abiding by the rules of the road and all driving/automobile related laws.</li><li>Follow all Native Child and Family Services of Toronto policies and procedures as applicable.</li><li>Driver’s abstract must be submitted prior to commencing as a Volunteer Driver and will be completed and submitted to the Family Access Supervisor on an annual basis.</li><li>Must have, and maintain, a minimum of $2,000,000 liability insurance.</li><li>Adherence to mandatory seat belt and child restraint regulations.</li><li>Experience with children is an asset.</li><li>Reliability, flexibility, patience, and confidentiality are all required.</li><li>Vulnerable Sector Clearance must be completed at the start of service, and every 3 years thereafter.</li><li>Must always have a valid G driver’s license.</li><li>Must complete mandatory child safety seat training, as required.</li><li>Hours can include Sunday- Saturday with a range of times depending on the needs of the community member(s), and availability of the driver. There is no minimum or maximum amount of drives per week, and it is specifically based off of program needs.</li></ul>NOTE: All vehicles must be equipped with approved tether bolts so that infant/toddler car seats may be secured.
