Step in. Stand up. Show them what's possible.

Co-facilitate school-based mentoring programs for girls and gender-diverse youth in grades 4-7. You’ll work alongside 1-2 other mentors, delivering structured sessions to groups of 8-10 students, no facilitation experience needed.

"The best part was meeting new people, having a safe space to open up, and learning how to handle tough moments." — Go Girls Participant

You'll be running one of two programs:

  • Go Girls! Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds - active living, connection & well-being
  • My Voice, My Power! - identity, advocacy & leadership to prevent gender-based violence

Commitment:

  • 2 hours per week, for 8 weeks
  • School-based, set weekly schedule (same date, same time, and same location)
  • Co-facilitated, you're never doing this solo

What you’ll gain:

  • Facilitation & public speaking skills that genuinely stand out on any resume or grad school application
  • Group management & classroom experience, real, hands-on, and hard to get anywhere else
  • Conflict resolution, quick decision-making & cultural awareness in action
  • The kind of leadership practice that makes you better in meetings, presentations, and everyday conversations
  • No experience needed, full training + ready-to-go weekly session guides provided
  • Ongoing caseworker support at key moments from your first session to midpoint check-ins and wrap-up, plus a network of fellow mentors who understand exactly what you're going through

Eligibility:

  • Be 19 years or older and identify as a woman, non-binary, transgender, or gender-diverse individual.
  • Complete a free online Criminal Records Check.
  • Have been a Canadian resident for at least one year (or provide an International Criminal Records Check).
  • Submit a Driver's Abstract if you plan to drive youth in your car.
  • Have an interest in building a positive relationship with youth aged 7-17.
