Stewardship Officer
The Stewardship Officer will serve as a key member of the Philanthropy Team. Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy, you are a well-rounded fundraising professional who has successfully demonstrated the ability to develop partnerships and grow and steward relationships to increase fundraising revenue.
This position will manage philanthropy and stewardship programs including Sunshine Coach, and provide support to the Philanthropy team.
To be successful in this role you are a strong fundraiser, a creative and critical thinker, you can multitask and work on multiple projects at one time and have a proactive attitude. You are extremely organized and detailed oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains a portfolio of $1000+ and a six-figure budget goal as directed in the strategic plan
- Supports the Philanthropy Team by managing the Sunshine Coach program, being the first point of contact for donor inquiries, assisting the team with stewardship and thank you calls
- Manages all stewardship including recognition pieces that foster long term relationships and provide support for the Monthly Donor Program.
- Manages family outreach program including reaching out to families who have received grants and tracking for stewardship assets.
- Develops, recruits and manages Variety’s Volunteer Program for stewardship and philanthropic initiatives
- Coordinates and manages stewardship reports, scheduling, and other donor deliverables
- Creates and manages recognition events and/or opportunities
- Coordinates and manages Legacy stewardship reports, events, and newsletters on a quarterly or biannual basis
- Works and manages relationships in RE, including Opportunities and Stewardship plans and coordinating donor reports and data
- Build and grow understanding of the world of philanthropy including solicitations and entire donor cycle and stay informed of current trends
- Manages, coordinates, and drives fundraising, marketing, and administrative projects as requested
Education and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fundraising role with a proven track record of success
- Exceptional time management, planning and organizational skills, with an emphasis on detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to identify and develop donor relationships
- Possess strong listening, speaking, and writing skills, and be a proactive communicator
- A resourceful self-starter who exhibits strong leadership skills and a a “can-do” attitude
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience using Raiser’s Edge is an asset
- Must have a valid BC Driver’s License and be flexible with work hours
