If you are someone who wants to know you are making a difference, and do it in a friendly, supportive workplace where you are a valued team member and not an employee number, you may be the person we’re seeking.

For more than 100 years, Kin Canada has been helping those less fortunate and making Canadian communities better places to live. Our thousands of member-volunteers are helping to restore a sense of community coast-to-coast and changing lives in the process. Our job is to help them succeed.

We have a growth opportunity for a dynamic individual in our communications area, as our Communications Coordinator. You will be a key player in shaping and delivering the messaging directed to our member base across Canada, influencing our Association’s direction. Collaborating with our small team to support all departments’ communications needs, you will prepare and/or distribute content for Kin Canada newsletters, eblasts, and websites. You will also oversee our blog and social media platforms. You will also provide assistance with marketing campaigns and programs as required.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Update and create content on Kin Canada’s website, blog, and other social media sites.
  • Draft articles for various communications vehicles.
  • Create communications to clubs and members.
  • Assist with marketing campaigns and programs.
  • Create and execute a yearly communications plan.

Qualifications, Experience and Abilities

  • A degree or diploma in marketing or communications.
  • Three years related job experience with proven success in at least two of the key areas of responsibility, with a demonstrated ability to grow into other job duties.
  • Proven knowledge of common principles and practices of corporate communications.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, and to handle multiple priorities simultaneously under deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and solid research skills.
  • Sharp, outgoing “people person” with a creative flair.
  • Strong core writing skills with the ability to adapt to various styles and applications.
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use Adobe Illustrator and entire Adobe Suite.
  • Experience with IMIS is an asset but not required; training will be provided.
  • Graphic design skills are an asset; Canva Pro is currently used for most internal design needs.

This is a full-time, remote / hybrid option role for an 18-month contract period.

Come and find your niche, doing work that really matters in an excellent environment that encourages creativity and ownership of diverse job responsibilities.
