Description du poste 
 
Il s’agit d’un poste national en télétravail, quel que soit l’endroit où vous vivez au Canada. Certains

• 5 ans d’expérience dans la gestion de services en français, de traduction ou d’une équipe 
semblable. 

• Certification de traducteur agréé (trad. a.) et membre en règle d’une association provinciale de 
traducteurs et d’interprètes ou d’une organisation professionnelle semblable. 

• Réussite d’une évaluation réalisée par une tierce partie (écrite et orale). 
 • Compétences en communication verbale et écrite, avec la capacité d’exprimer des idées et des 

opinions clairement et efficacement en anglais et en français. Expérience de la traduction de 
documents marketing et de l’adaptation de textes pour les formats en ligne et imprimés. 

• Bonne connaissance des outils de TAO (SDL Trados Studio, memoQ ou Wordfast) et de

Position Summary 
 
This is a national, work-from-home position. You can live anywhere in Canada. Some limited travel may 
be required for staff meetings and events.

Reports to: Manager - Marketing and Communications. Works closely to provide support to other 
departments. 

Objective: The French Language Services Coordinator oversees translation of materials and messages 
from English to French, advises and assists all departments in providing service to Francophone 
members, partners and volunteers, and assists in identifying resources and tools to aid in offering 
programs and services in both official languages. 

Roles &amp; Responsibilities 

• Manage and oversee all French translation, editing, proofreading and revision. This may include 
translating materials as well as working with external translators. 

• Ensure consistency in tone, terminology, and style across all Threads of Life French-language 
communications. 


• Ensure Threads of Life’s French materials comply with national language legislation and industry 
standards. 

• Develop and maintain processes and systems to track, store and manage translated documents 
and materials. Work closely with the marketing and communications staff to include translation 
in project plans and timelines. 

• Assist in updating and maintaining the French-language portion of Threads of Life’s websites. 
 • In consultation with management, develop plans and strategies to help Threads of Life become 

fully bilingual in its programs and services. 
 • Provide support to Threads of Life staff and departments in responding to inquiries in French 

and serving French-language members, partners and volunteers. 
 • Research and identify resources and services (e.g. AI, digital platforms, interpretation services) 

to help provide programs, services and events in both languages. 
 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields, (or closely related disciplines): Translation, 
Linguistics, French Studies, Communications, Applied Languages Studies. 

• 5 years of experience in management of French services, translation or similar team. 
 • Certifications: CT (Certified Translator) and member in good standing of provincial translators’ 

and interpreters’ association or a similar professional organization. 
 • Candidates must successfully complete a third-party assessment (both written and oral). 
 • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to express ideas and opinions clearly 

and effectively in both English and French. Experience translating marketing materials and 
adapting text for online and print formats. 

• Good knowledge of CAT tools (SDL Trados Studio, memoQ or Wordfast) and Microsoft 365; 
familiarity with Google suite, Canva and Asana. 

• Able to work well as part of a team and manage competing priorities. 
 • Highly organized, able to work independently, with strong time-management skills. 
 • Other languages in addition to English and French are an asset.

School Mental Health Ontario works together with Ontario school districts to support student mental health. As a provincial implementation support team, School Mental Health Ontario provides leadership, resources, implementation coaching and a community of practice to promote the uptake, scaling and sustainability of evidence-informed, implementation-sensitive, identity-affirming and culturally responsive practices in school mental health. School Mental Health Ontario serves the 60 English and 12 French school boards in Ontario, remote school authorities, and provincial and demonstration schools.
