Camp Goodtimes provides children and youth affected by cancer and their families with an unforgettable summer camp experience in a medically supervised, safe, and supportive environment.&nbsp;We’ve&nbsp;been friendship-building and memory-making in British Columbia since 1985,&nbsp;and work with&nbsp;nearly 500&nbsp;participants&nbsp;each summer through our kids, family, and youth camps.&nbsp;&nbsp;Our programs&nbsp;offer a variety of volunteer opportunities including Arts and Crafts, Dining Hall, Host and Skip&nbsp;(Camp Counsellor) roles!&nbsp;If&nbsp;you’re&nbsp;passionate about supporting vulnerable communities,&nbsp;comfortable&nbsp;working with&nbsp;kids,&nbsp;and&nbsp;enjoy&nbsp;the outdoors,&nbsp;we’d&nbsp;love to hear from you!&nbsp; &nbsp;We believe that time spent at camp allows kids to just be kids, away from their diagnosis. The first five weeks take place at the UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest’s stunning Loon Lake Retreat Centre near Maple Ridge, BC and our last three weeks of programming take place at Camp Pringle on the shores of Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island. Transportation is provided from Vancouver to our Maple Ridge site&nbsp;and back as well as from Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal to our Vancouver Island site and back.&nbsp;Please note volunteers are able&nbsp;to drive&nbsp;their personal vehicles to&nbsp;site;&nbsp;parking is available but may be limited.&nbsp;&nbsp;Why We Need You&nbsp;&nbsp;The Canadian Cancer Society is proud to be a champion and voice for Canadians who care about cancer. You will be supported by Kitchen Couriers who help count, stamp, sort, and bag the meals. Once prepared, these meals are dispersed across Vancouver and Richmond for our drivers to deliver them straight to the doors of isolated and homebound seniors.&nbsp;Volunteer Impact: Our dedicated volunteer team delivers over&nbsp;400 meals a day, Monday – Friday!&nbsp;Last year, we delivered over 61,000 meals serving over 770 vulnerable seniors and homebound neighbors.&nbsp;A Kitchen Dispatcher is at the heart of our Meals on Wheels program.
