About Devxchange International
Devxchange International is a Canadian registered charity that helps Canadians develop and lead grassroots international development projects. Our Lead Members work with communities and local partners to deliver projects that address locally identified needs.
Position Summary
Devxchange is seeking an organized and research-minded volunteer to help manage our growing grant opportunities program.
The volunteer’s first priority will be maintaining our online grant opportunities database, including reviewing existing listings, removing or updating expired opportunities, and monitoring opportunities that may reopen in future funding cycles.
The volunteer will also research new foundations and grant opportunities that may be a good fit for Devxchange and its projects. As time and experience allow, they may assist Lead Members with preparing and submitting grant applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and maintain grant opportunities listed on Devxchange’s grant website
- Update or remove opportunities that have closed or are no longer available
- Track recurring opportunities that may reopen in future years
- Research Canadian foundations and other potential funding opportunities
- Add suitable opportunities and accurate application information to the website
- Track deadlines, eligibility requirements and application status
- Help match opportunities with appropriate Devxchange projects
- Communicate with staff and Lead Members about relevant opportunities
- Assist with grant applications, budgets and supporting documents when needed
- Help ensure applications are complete, accurate and submitted on time
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Is highly organized and attentive to detail
- Has strong online research and written communication skills
- Can manage deadlines and keep accurate records
- Is comfortable learning online databases and website tools
- Can work independently while communicating regularly with staff
- Has an interest in international development and community-led projects
Experience with grant research, grant writing, nonprofit work, fundraising, WordPress or database management would be an asset, but training and guidance can be provided.
What You Will Gain
- Practical experience in grant management, research and writing
- Exposure to a range of grassroots international development projects
- Opportunities to build nonprofit administration and fundraising skills
- Flexible, remote volunteer experience
- The opportunity to help community-led projects access meaningful funding
This position may grow as Devxchange’s grant program develops. Although future paid work cannot be guaranteed, there may be potential for the role to evolve into a paid position if the grant program generates sufficient funding.
