Volunteer Accountant
Access Support Networks is a registered grassroots nonprofit organization based in North York, Toronto, dedicated to improving the well-being and quality of life of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable community members through health promotion, system navigation, counselling, and community support programs.
We are seeking a volunteer CPA or experienced accountant to assist with the preparation of our annual financial statements. Our organization has an annual operating budget of less than $99,999, and we do not require an audit or review engagement. We require prepared financial statements for governance and grant application purposes.
The volunteer will prepare:
- Statement of Financial Position (Balance Sheet)
- Statement of Operations (Revenue and Expenses)
To support this work, we can provide our GIFI income statement, bookkeeping records, and other financial information. The completed financial statements will be presented to our Board of Directors for approval, which will be documented through a signed financial statement by the Board Chair or Treasurer or a signed Board approval letter.
This is a short-term, flexible volunteer opportunity with a meaningful impact. Your expertise will help strengthen our organization's financial governance and increase our ability to secure funding that supports essential services for vulnerable communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA designation or equivalent accounting experience.
- Familiarity with nonprofit financial reporting is an asset.
