At CityKidz, we think it’s time to change that, and we’re recruiting a dynamic frontline team of leaders who will work with us to help kids dream big dreams and reach their full potential. &nbsp;Role Overview: &nbsp;CityKidz is seeking First Aid Attendant Volunteers to join our team!&nbsp;First Aid Attendant Volunteers are the instrumental force of love, comfort, and compassion, who assist children in our programs during vulnerable moments through empathetic care and basic level first aid support.&nbsp;First Aid Attendants have the opportunity to further develop leadership skills, while caring for children and ensuring their safety during CityKidz programs. As a First Aid Attendant, you will be the point person to assess and treat sick or injured children aged 6-12 and/or volunteers. Using your First Aid training, you will be responsible for examining the care needed, and communicating the necessary information with the appropriate staff.&nbsp;Key Role Highlights:  &nbsp;<ul><li>Gain real-life basic first aid experience in a supportive, kid-focussed environment&nbsp;</li><li>Be a calm and caring presence when it matters most, supporting children through small injuries and big emotions with empathy and kindness&nbsp;</li><li>Make a lasting impact in moments of vulnerability&nbsp;</li><li>Boost your confidence and readiness for future careers within care domains&nbsp;</li></ul>Responsibilities: &nbsp;<ul><li>Provide professional care to children and volunteers who require first aid attention, assessing their condition and administering appropriate treatment based on your First Aid training&nbsp;</li><li>Show love and concern for children in need of first aid attention, offering emotional support and reassurance during their time of need&nbsp;</li><li>Complete First Aid Incident Reports for any children or volunteers whom you have provided care to, documenting the details of the incident and the care provided&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure the first aid room is kept clean and disinfected between each person in need of care, maintaining a safe and sanitary environment&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain an adequate inventory of first aid supplies, regularly checking stock levels and requesting additional supplies when needed to ensure availability for emergencies&nbsp;</li></ul>Who this Role is for:&nbsp;<ul><li>Students, retirees, caregivers, or anyone who enjoys interacting with kids and youths&nbsp;</li><li>Individuals with a warm heart, and a caring, supportive manner&nbsp;</li><li>Those who desire to inspire kids to dream big&nbsp;</li></ul>Skills &amp; Qualifications: &nbsp;<ul><li>Minimum age 16+ (required)&nbsp;</li><li>Current First Aid and CPR Level C (required)&nbsp;</li><li>High level of professionalism, maturity, and care in supporting children (required)&nbsp;</li><li>Experience working under pressure (preferred)&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and remain calm and focused during emergency situations&nbsp;</li><li>Effective communication skills to support interaction with children, volunteers, and staff, providing clear instructions and conveying empathy and support&nbsp;</li><li>Good judgment, evaluation, and decision-making skills to assess the severity of injuries or illnesses and determine appropriate courses of action&nbsp;</li><li>Proficiency in maintaining records and logs, accurately documenting incidents and care provided for future reference&nbsp;</li></ul>Competencies &amp; Attributes: &nbsp;<ul><li>Calm and Empathetic&nbsp;</li><li>Adaptable&nbsp;</li><li>Mindful&nbsp;</li></ul>Training &amp; Support:&nbsp;<ul><li>On-the-job training will be provided on your first shift&nbsp;</li><li>You will be paired with an experienced First Aid Attendant volunteer to help guide and integrate you into our community&nbsp;</li></ul>CityKidz Volunteer Community, Appreciation &amp; Support: &nbsp;<ul><li>Lifechanging impact &amp; heartwarming moments&nbsp;</li><li>250+ volunteers &amp; 800+ kids &amp; youth throughout the city!&nbsp;</li><li>CityKidz apparel for all volunteers&nbsp;</li><li>Lunch + snacks provided for all volunteers for Saturday programs&nbsp;</li><li>Annual Volunteer Appreciation event&nbsp;</li><li>Twice a year Volunteer Pancake Breakfast&nbsp;</li><li>Verification of Volunteer Hours Signed off On&nbsp;</li><li>Volunteer Years of Service Recognition&nbsp;</li><li>Advancement Opportunities to Senior and Leadership Roles&nbsp;</li><li>Child Abuse Awareness and Protection Training&nbsp;</li><li>On the job and ongoing role trainings&nbsp;</li><li>References provided on an individual case basis&nbsp;</li><li>Flexibility and responsive collaborative communication!&nbsp;</li></ul>Time Commitment: &nbsp;<ul><li>Time Commitment: Minimum four (4) month commitment is required, for at least 1x a month but preferably biweekly Saturdays through March – June and September- December&nbsp;</li><li>Shifts: 9:00am-11:00am or 12:30pm-2:30pm&nbsp;</li></ul>Work Environment &amp; Additional Details:&nbsp;<ul><li>Environment: fast paced, unique situations each day, highly relational&nbsp;</li></ul>Next Steps / How to Apply:&nbsp;Ready to make a difference? Heart Beatz is a registered charity currently seeking wonderful people who will donate their time and talent to sit on our volunteer Policy Governance Board of Directors. Our charity is dedicated to increasing opportunities for children, youth and families in Scarborough.&nbsp; We are seeking diverse leaders who have passion, creativity, and who have experience in finance and fundraising and are dedicated to serving the community through strengthening Governance.
