Position Summary:

The Marketing & Events Coordinator supports the production and coordination of NHPC’s marketing materials, member communications, event promotions, conference materials, newsletters, social media content, branded documents, and campaign timelines.

This position works closely with another Communications & Marketing Coordinator to develop and implement NHPC communications strategies.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Content Production and Coordination

Draft, format, proofread, and schedule routine content.

Support newsletters, member updates, event promotions, social media posts, and email campaigns.

Maintain content calendars and campaign timelines.

Coordinate approvals for communications materials.

Ensure routine content is clear, accurate, and aligned with NHPC’s brand and tone.

Repurpose approved content across channels where appropriate.

Marketing and Campaign Support

Support campaigns related to membership, education, events, conference, member benefits, and public awareness.

Track campaign deadlines, deliverables, assets, and approvals.

Coordinate with internal team members to keep projects moving.

Support social media content and basic performance tracking.

Maintain organized folders of campaign materials, graphics, copy, and templates.

Annual Conference Support

Support annual conference communications and source promotional materials.

Assist with the conference program guide, speaker/session descriptions, signage, sponsor recognition materials, attendee emails, and branded documents.

Maintain conference communication timelines and asset trackers.

Work with education and events staff on speaker, session, registration, and attendee materials.

Support post-conference follow-up, surveys, and reporting.

Event and Education Promotion

Support promotion of webinars, education sessions, AGM, awards, networking opportunities, and other member engagement activities.

Prepare event descriptions, promotional copy, reminder emails, and follow-up communications.

Ensure event information is consistent across email, website, social media, and registration platforms.

Design and Template Support

Create and maintain simple branded materials using approved templates.

Support Canva or similar design-template work.

Prepare basic graphics, slides, signage, handouts, and digital assets.

Ensure materials follow NHPC brand standards.

Organize marketing assets and working files.

Website, Email, and Digital Support

Support routine website updates in coordination with the digital systems lead.

Help format email campaigns and landing-page content.

Maintain content accuracy across digital channels.

Track basic content and campaign metrics.

Support digital filing and organization of marketing assets.

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting skills.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, social media tools, Canva or similar design tools, and basic website content updates.
  • Experience supporting events, conferences, webinars, or member communications.
  • Strong project coordination and deadline-management skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and brand consistency.
  • Aptitude for learning and becoming proficient with new digital software.

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in communications, marketing, public relations, events, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing coordination, communications, events, nonprofit/association communications, or content production.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere Pro), MailChimp, Hootsuite.
