Reporting to the Director, Business Applications, this role works closely with mission, fund development, leadership, and operations teams to understand data needs and translate them into actionable insights. You will play a key role in transforming organizational data into intelligence that supports fundraising, marketing, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.This role can be based out anywhere in Canada and is a full-time, hybrid, 12-month contract position.WHAT YOU WILL DO<ul><li>Create, implement, and maintain standard reports, dashboards, and alerts to support business decision-making.</li><li>Develop segmentation strategies to support enhanced and personalized supporter journeys.</li><li>Monitor, control, and improve data quality, resolving errors and performing updates as required.</li><li>Collaborate with governance teams to influence how data is collected and reported in alignment with organizational strategy.</li><li>Analyze donor segmentation, engagement levels, campaign performance, and fundraising and marketing metrics.</li><li>Design and maintain interactive, drill-down dashboards and reports within CRM and related platforms.</li><li>Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources to support cross-application analysis.</li><li>Identify trends related to attrition, donations, engagement, and mission-related metrics. </li><li>Develop processes and reports to monitor data quality and identify anomalies. </li><li>Prepare complex contact lists and final campaign files for communications and database uploads. </li><li>Maintain expertise in data models and standards, and support users with reporting tools. </li><li>Support ad hoc and mass data updates to align with standards and system integrations. </li><li>Provide expertise on information management projects and ongoing support requests. </li><li>Work with management and departmental leaders to prioritize data and reporting needs. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>WHAT YOU BRING<ul><li>Education in Mathematics, Information Management, Computer Science, Statistics, or equivalent experience, training and education.</li><li>7+ years of experience as a data or reporting analyst or in a related field. </li><li>5+ years of experience working with large datasets and relational databases. </li><li>3+ years of experience developing reports and dashboards in Salesforce. </li><li>Proven experience using analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, SPSS, or SAS. </li><li>Expert knowledge of database and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or JSON. </li><li>Strong skills in data modelling, identity reconciliation, duplicate management, and segmentation. </li><li>Expert level Excel skills. </li><li>Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Data Cloud Consultant, Tableau CRM, Einstein Discovery, Marketing Cloud) are an asset. </li><li>Strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills with exceptional attention to detail. </li><li>A clear Criminal Background Check is required.</li></ul>YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT<ul><li>Hybrid work model, with 2 days in-office per week and 3 days remote. <h3>About BISN</h3>The Bell Island Support Network (BISN) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing social and health challenges related to addictions and recovery on Bell Island, NL. Bell Island is a rural community located about a 20-minute drive and 20-minute ferry crossing from St. John’s. It has a population of approximately 2,400 people and is home to an Opioid Management and Treatment Clinic at the local hospital.<h4>BISN’s goals are to:</h4><ul><li>Enhance harm reduction efforts.&nbsp;</li><li> Provide peer support throughout the recovery process.</li><li>Offer opportunities for life skills, pre-employment and employment training.</li><li>Reduce stigma around addictions and facilitate better integration into the community.</li></ul><h3>The Position</h3>BISN is at an exciting stage of growth. We are formalizing and expanding our social enterprise initiatives, strengthening our business development strategies, and deepening our impact in the community. Other equivalent education and/or professional experience may be considered.</li><li>3-5 years of professional experience in a role with business development, sales, entrepreneurship, or relevant leadership roles.</li><li>Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.</li><li>Experience working with and supporting individuals who face barriers to employment (e.g. experience in social work, community services, or a similar non-profit setting).</li><li>A working understanding of and/or experience applying trauma-informed approaches, harm reduction and/or lived/living experience with addiction.</li><li>Organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.&nbsp;</li></ul><h3>Assets</h3><ul><li>Direct experience, passion and/or skills in food production and growing and/or woodworking field.</li><li>Strong financial literacy, with experience in quoting, budgeting, and financial tracking.</li><li> Experience in developing, marketing, supporting and/or growing a program that generates revenue within a charity</li><li>Previous experience working in an isolated community.</li></ul><h3>Additional Considerations</h3><ul><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.</li><li>Willingness to undertake continuing education and training as offered through the role.</li><li>Code of Conduct and vulnerable sector check is mandatory.&nbsp;</li></ul><h3>Salary and Benefits $65,000- $70,000</h3>The position reports to the Project Manager, who reports to the board of directors. It is supported by the Social Enterprise Coordinator and Peer Support Coordinator in operations and programming, and external consultants for business development.The position is funded by a major grant from Health Canada until March 31, 2028.The place of employment is BISN’s Peer Support Centre (“The Hug”) in Wabana. And the start date is as soon as possible.
