At BISN, you will join a passionate team working at the intersection of business and social good, with the opportunity to shape the future of our social enterprise programs and create lasting community impact in Bell Island.<h3>This position seeks to:</h3>(1) Work alongside external consultants to lead business development and sales efforts to secure new contracts, build a robust customer pipeline, and increase the financial selfsufficiency of BISN's social enterprise activities.(2) Support the Social Enterprise Coordinator to ensure all orders are fulfilled while optimizing production and distribution workflows for efficiency.(3) Foster a supportive, safe, and empowering work environment that provides meaningful employment, training opportunities, and skills development for all social enterprise participants alongside BISN's team.&nbsp;(4) Strategically balance the dual objectives of the enterprise activities to create a sustainable and scalable model which contributes to BISN's impact in the community.<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>Business Development and Sales (60%)<ul><li>Execute a sales and marketing strategy to increase revenue and market presence for social enterprise activities.</li><li>Identify and cultivate new business leads, community partnerships, and sales channels with various audiences.</li><li>Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with new and existing customers. - Manage online sales platforms, marketing efforts, and other channels to promote products and services.</li><li>Track sales performance against targets and provide regular updates to leadership on sales activities.</li></ul>Operational and Programmatic Support (25%)<ul><li>Work in close collaboration with the Social Enterprise Coordinator to support day-to-day operations and ensure customer orders are fulfilled.</li><li>Support the implementation of health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and clients.</li><li>Identify opportunities and strategies for increased efficiency, cost-effectiveness, business growth and sustainability.</li><li>Other duties as assigned to support the charitable mandate of the organization.</li></ul>Client Support &amp; Mentorship (15%)&nbsp;<ul><li>Contributes to a positive, trauma-informed, and inclusive work environment that promotes personal and professional development growth for clients.</li><li>Work alongside BISN staff to provide mentorship, support and training to clients employed through enterprise activities.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Other equivalent education and/or professional experience may be considered.</li><li>3-5 years of professional experience in a role with business development, sales, entrepreneurship, or relevant leadership roles.</li><li>Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.</li><li>Experience working with and supporting individuals who face barriers to employment (e.g. experience in social work, community services, or a similar non-profit setting).</li><li>A working understanding of and/or experience applying trauma-informed approaches, harm reduction and/or lived/living experience with addiction.</li><li>Organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.&nbsp;</li></ul><h3>Assets</h3><ul><li>Direct experience, passion and/or skills in food production and growing and/or woodworking field.</li><li>Strong financial literacy, with experience in quoting, budgeting, and financial tracking.</li><li> Experience in developing, marketing, supporting and/or growing a program that generates revenue within a charity</li><li>Previous experience working in an isolated community.</li></ul><h3>Additional Considerations</h3><ul><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.</li><li>Willingness to undertake continuing education and training as offered through the role.</li><li>Code of Conduct and vulnerable sector check is mandatory.&nbsp;</li></ul><h3>Salary and Benefits $65,000- $70,000</h3>The position reports to the Project Manager, who reports to the board of directors. And the start date is as soon as possible.
