Deliver More Than Just a Meal
Calgary Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteer Meal Delivery Drivers and Couriers to help ensure members of our community have reliable access to nutritious food and compassionate human connection.
Each weekday, we deliver meals to over 550 clients, many of whom rely on this service to remain independent in their own homes. For some, a Meals on Wheels volunteer may be the only friendly face they see that day.

Volunteer Opportunities (10:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday–Friday)
Regular Route – Choose a day of the week and frequency that works for you (weekly, bi‑weekly, monthly). You’ll be matched with a consistent route in your quadrant of the city, allowing you to get to know both the route and the clients you serve.
Flexible Spares – Can’t commit to a regular schedule? Flexible spares help cover planned and last‑minute gaps. Available routes are posted online, letting you choose shifts that fit your availability.
Couriers (Downtown, no personal vehicle required) – Partner with a staff driver in a branded Calgary Meals on Wheels van and deliver meals as a team. Courier roles can be scheduled regularly or on a fill‑in basis.
We recognize that volunteers use their own vehicles and fuel for deliveries. To help offset this, we offer a Gas Rebate Program for drivers.
Requirements
• Availability between 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM, at least one weekday
• Valid Alberta Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle (not required for Couriers)
• Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check, interview, references, and training

Since 1965, Calgary Meals on Wheels has relied on the dedication of volunteers to deliver not just meals, but care, connection, and community. Each weekday, more than 65 volunteers help serve over 60 routes across the city — and we’d love for you to be one of them.
