Unpaid Volunteer Position

About Unplugged Canada:
Unplugged Canada is a grassroots, parent-led movement raising awareness about the risks of early smartphone use among children. Through advocacy, resources, and our online pledge, we empower parents and caregivers to delay smartphones until at least age 14, while building a supportive community of like-minded families who value in-person friendships and experiences.

Position Summary:
The Provincial Lead plays a key leadership role in growing and supporting Unplugged Canada's presence across their province. This volunteer will help coordinate local City/Town Chapters and School Champions, represent Unplugged Canada's mission to provincial stakeholders, and support the movement's advocacy efforts at the provincial level.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate City/Town Chapter teams and School Champions within the province
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Unplugged Canada at the provincial level
  • Help grow awareness of the pledge and recruit new families, schools, and volunteers
  • Represent Unplugged Canada in conversations with provincial organizations, schools, or media where relevant
  • Collaborate with the national team to align on messaging, campaigns, and priorities
  • Provide regular updates on provincial activity and growth

Qualifications:

  • Passionate about delaying smartphones and social media
  • Commitment to evidence-based approaches to advancing children's well-being
  • Knowledgeable about children's mental health is an asset but not mandatory
  • Experience as an Unplugged Canada School Champion or being part of an Unplugged Canada City/Town Chapter team is desirable, but not required.
