Central Toronto Youth Services (CTYS) is an accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre with a range of services and programs for youth and families across Toronto. These services are client-centered and flexible. Geared for young people and families with a range of mental health needs who may have difficulty accessing traditional office-based services.

Priority Access for Students Program (PAS) at CTYS

The PAS team provides psychotherapy, and case management services for youth aged 13-18 and their families. Referred for this program come directly from CTYS’ partnership with TDSB and TCDSB social work teams. PAS primarily utilizes an evidence-based attachment and family focused model of intervention – integrating lenses that are trauma informed, and prioritize equity, anti-racism, and inclusion. A flexible work schedule and approach is required to ensure services accessibility - including some evenings, and occasional community/client home service delivery. Primary Responsibilities:

• To provide clinical services and engage youth and families referred by TDSB and TCDSB to improve individual and family functioning
• To provide clinical services and case management, informed by trauma, attachment and family systems theories, as well as an anti-oppression/anti-racism framework
• To work collaboratively with youth, caregivers, school personnel and other service providers, by developing individualized and effective service delivery plans that are strengths-based and from a family engagement perspective
• Providing flexible services that ensure accessibility for youth and families, including two evenings a week (available until 8:00pm). May include occasional service provision in community and client homes
• Participate in team, staff and supervision meetings, as well as clinical consultations regularly
• To maintain all records and reports as required by CTYS policies and procedures
• Facilitate referrals and support transitions to community services and resources

Qualifications:

• Registration in a regulated health college (e.g. R.P. /R.S.W.) which permits the delivery of psychotherapy is required
• A master’s degree in a counselling/social work-related field
• Identification with and experience supporting BIPOC and/or 2SILGBTQ+ communities
• Minimum three years’ experience working in Children’s Mental Health
• Knowledge of and commitment to practicing from a decolonizing, anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework
• Expertise in working with 2SILGBTQ+youth
• Experience working with youth and families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
• Knowledgeable around the potential needs of and experience providing support to youth who identify as neuro-divergent
• Demonstrated skills in assessment, formulation, counselling, case planning and coordination
• Experience counselling youth and their families through complex mental health challenges, crisis management and safety planning
• Knowledge of providing trauma informed counselling to youth and families
• Experience with attachment and developmental approaches in working with youth and families
• Knowledge of appropriate therapeutic approaches informed by anti-oppression/anti-racism and equity
• Knowledge and commitment to evidence informed practice
• Knowledge of substance use/harm reduction theory as applied to youth and families
• Familiarity with resources supportive to CTYS clients (e.g. 2SILGBTQ and BIPOC youth) and experience referring clients to community resources
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with youth and their families
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with school boards, the community and service providers
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfort and proficiency in using technology to engage youth and families (e.g. phone, text, and video) and in completing clinical documentation (e.g. Microsoft Word, Adobe, and Outlook)
• Proficiency in French language is an asset
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening Check required

Start Date: ASAP

Salary Range: $66,463.16 - 79,360.49
