Camp Sunshine Volunteer Job Description Position: Camp Sunshine Volunteer Location:&nbsp;Ward's Island, Canadamp Sunshine, Toronto ON Duration:&nbsp;May to September 2025 Description: Camp Sunshine is a vibrant community dedicated to providing seniors with enriching experiences and cherished memories. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our seniors. Your tasks will include: 1. Set Up and Clean Up: &nbsp; &nbsp;- Assist with setting up activity areas, dining spaces, and outdoor facilities. &nbsp; &nbsp;- Help maintain cleanliness and tidiness throughout the camp premises. 2. Food Preparation and Serving: &nbsp; &nbsp;- Support the kitchen staff in preparing nutritious meals and snacks. &nbsp; &nbsp;- Serve meals with care and attention, ensuring seniors' dietary needs are met. 3. Attending to Seniors: &nbsp; &nbsp;- Engage with seniors in a compassionate and respectful manner. &nbsp; &nbsp;- Provide assistance with mobility, if needed, and ensure their comfort and safety. 4. Chatting with Seniors: &nbsp; &nbsp;- Foster meaningful connections through friendly conversations and active listening. &nbsp; &nbsp;- Create a warm and inclusive atmosphere where seniors feel valued and appreciated. 5. Walking Tours: &nbsp; &nbsp;- Lead or assist with guided walking tours around the campgrounds and nearby natural areas. &nbsp; &nbsp;- Share knowledge about local history, flora, and fauna to enhance seniors' understanding and enjoyment. 6. Gardening: &nbsp; &nbsp;- Assist in maintaining the camp's garden spaces, including planting, watering, and weeding. &nbsp; &nbsp;- Encourage seniors to participate in gardening activities, promoting relaxation and sensory stimulation. 7. Singalong with Seniors: &nbsp; &nbsp;- Organize and lead singalongs with seniors, featuring their favorite songs from different eras. &nbsp; &nbsp;- Create a joyful and uplifting atmosphere through music, encouraging participation and camaraderie. 8. Activity Support: &nbsp; &nbsp;- Assist activity coordinators in organizing and facilitating recreational and educational activities. &nbsp; &nbsp;- Encourage seniors to participate in group games, arts and crafts, or other leisure pursuits. 9. Safety and Security: &nbsp; &nbsp;- Remain vigilant and attentive to ensure the well-being of all camp participants. &nbsp; &nbsp;- Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures as instructed by camp staff.
