Based in Toronto, Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits is a Canadian charity, 100% volunteer-

led that provides management consulting to improve organizational capacity and community impact for

ROLE: 

Join Our Leadership Team as Co-Director, Project Management! Endeavour is looking for a dedicated 

volunteer to join the Consulting Division as a Co-Director of Project Management. In this leadership role, 

you will be instrumental in ensuring each client engagement is successful for our volunteers, clients, and 

Endeavour. You will help shape project delivery standards, support project volunteers, and contribute to 

strengthening Endeavour’s overall project management excellence. 

Your core responsibilities include: 

• Managing the Project Management Committee, consisting of 4–6 Project Managers (PMs), each 

supporting 2–3 engagements per project cycle. 

• Facilitating and leading initiatives to streamline and automate project management processes, 

with the goal of improving efficiency, consistency, and overall effectiveness across engagements. 

• Facilitating and organizing Endeavour’s Mid-Term and Final Review sessions. 

• Managing email communication with volunteer Consultants and Engagement Managers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

As a Co-Director of Project Management, you will be responsible for the following areas: 

Project Leadership 

• Support volunteer PMs, offering guidance, mentorship, and escalation support throughout each 

project cycle.

• Collaborate with other Co-Directors and the Consulting Division leadership to ensure smooth 

operations and a consistent volunteer experience. 

• Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing, professional 

development, and continuous improvement among volunteer PM. 

• Support Engagement Manager and Project Advisor onboarding by coordinating email invitations 

and assisting with orientation training sessions. 

Project Management Optimization 

• Identify and implement opportunities to automate key project management processes, 

enhancing consistency, reducing manual workload, and improving overall project delivery. 

• Drive process improvement, including initiatives to streamline, standardize, and automate 

project management systems and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 

Project Preparation 

• Attend the Orientation Session at the beginning of each consulting cycle/round and provide new 

volunteers with information regarding the Project Management resources available to them 

throughout the duration of their consulting project 

• Assign each PM to a set of consulting engagements at the start of each consulting cycle/round 

Project Updates 

• Provide support/guidance to PMs in response to any issues/challenges (e.g. team dynamic 

issues, leadership challenges, client communication problems, scope creep, etc.) that may arise 

during each project, and escalate as appropriate to senior leadership 

• Schedule monthly calls/meetings with each PM to receive updates on the current status of each 

engagement 

• Present brief updates on the status of each consulting project to VP of Consulting on a monthly 

basis and to Endeavour’s Executive team at quarterly executive meetings 

Mid-term &amp; Final Review Sessions 

• Organize, host, and facilitate the Mid-term and Final Review sessions during each consulting 

cycle/round 

E-mail Communication &amp; Logistics 

• Provide strategic oversight of volunteer communications through the centralized inbox, ensuring 

timely responses and effective coordination across the team. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Previous Endeavour volunteer experience, particularly as a Senior Consultant or Engagement 

Manager, is highly desirable. 


• Experience in project management, process optimization and automation, with a focus on PMI 

methodologies, is an asset. 

• Demonstrated leadership and expertise in organizational, communication, presentation, time 

management, and stakeholder management skills. 

• Motivated and strategic, with a proven ability to lead responsibilities and introduce initiatives 

that optimize the project experience. 

• Availability to attend, host, and organize Mid-Term &amp; Final Review sessions (with 30+ volunteer 

attendees). 

• Ability to collaborate and deliver results in a virtual work environment. 

• Availability and willingness to travel to subway-accessible meeting spaces in the Toronto area, if 

required. 

• Long-term commitment (1–2+ years) to Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits

This role is ideal for someone who knows how to navigate complex systems, prepare senior leaders for high-stakes interactions, and keep fast-moving files organized and on track.&nbsp;The Stakeholder Sr. Manager is responsible for cultivating and maintaining the relationships that shape the organization’s influence—government bodies, health-sector partners, professional associations, and key strategic allies.&nbsp;This role supports the CEO and senior leadership by ensuring that every interaction, including meetings, briefing notes, follow-ups, and engagements, is well-prepared, welldocumented, and well-managed. The Stakeholder Sr. Manager brings structure, discipline, and professionalism to a fast-moving environment where political acuity is non-negotiable.&nbsp;This is a standalone role requiring maturity, discretion, and the ability to work confidently with senior officials, external partners, and OAO’s Board committees/working groups when assigned.&nbsp;Key Responsibilities&nbsp;1. Government &amp; External Stakeholder Relations&nbsp;<ul><li>Support and strengthen ongoing relationships with government officials, political staff, ministry representatives, and allied health-sector organizations. </li><li>Coordinate stakeholder meetings, briefings, consultations, and follow-up actions to ensure continuity and momentum. </li><li>Track policy developments, political signals, and health-sector trends that may impact optometry.&nbsp;</li></ul>2. CEO &amp; Executive Support&nbsp;<ul><li>Develop meeting briefs, briefing notes, talking points, stakeholder dossiers, and strategic summaries. </li><li>Prepare the CEO for engagements with government, partners, and external associations. </li><li>Coordinate cross-departmental inputs to ensure the CEO receives complete, accurate, and timely information.&nbsp;</li></ul>3. Stakeholder Planning &amp; Engagement Tracking&nbsp;<ul><li>Maintain the stakeholder engagement plan and a disciplined tracking system of commitments, outcomes, and next steps. </li><li>Ensure consistent follow-up and accountability across meetings, agreements, and shared initiatives. </li><li>Map stakeholders by influence, risk, and opportunity.&nbsp;</li></ul>4. Cross-Functional Coordination&nbsp;<ul><li>Work with Member Services, Communications, and IT to align messaging, schedules, and stakeholder deliverables. </li><li>Ensure internal teams are aware of political context, project dependencies, and external expectations. </li><li>Support preparation for public campaigns, negotiations, advocacy initiatives, and strategic partnerships.&nbsp;</li></ul>5. Board Committee Engagement&nbsp;<ul><li>Provide coordination, research, and stakeholder-related support for committees/working groups when assigned by the CEO. </li><li>Attend meetings, prepare summaries, and ensure follow-through on action items.&nbsp;</li></ul>6.
