Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to reaching every Canadian affected by a brain tumour through support, education, information and research.

The Research Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors that provides governance and oversight for Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada’s research programs. As a committee member, you will help shape research priorities, ensure ethical compliance, and maximize the impact of funded research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction on research priorities and initiatives.
  • Review and advise on research funding opportunities and grant-making policies.
  • Monitor ethical compliance and financial accountability in research activities.
  • Support knowledge translation and dissemination of research findings.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions, industry, and other stakeholders.

Who We’re Looking For

We seek individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Clinical or basic science research
  • Finance and grant review
  • Regulatory knowledge (legal, ethics, public policy)
  • Healthcare policy or patient advocacy

Commitment:

  • Approximately 4 meetings per year + preparation time
  • Term: 3 years (renewable once)
