Ottawa Chamber Music Society (OCMS) also known as Ottawa 

Chamberfest is currently seeking four candidates to join its Board of 

Directors as of January 1, 2026. 

About the Board 
The Ottawa Chamberfest Board consists of up to 15 passionate music 

enthusiasts and community leaders dedicated to the mission of changing 

lives through music. Directors provide strategic leadership, oversee the 

organization’s management and operations, and support fundraising and 

investment initiatives. Ideal candidates demonstrate a commitment to 

community engagement, collaborative teamwork, and possess governance 

experience or expertise in related fields. New directors will contribute their 

skills and insight to shape the organization’s future and support its 

sustainability. 

Desired Skills and Experience 

The Board is especially interested in candidates with skills in: 

 • Financial management

Board Responsibilities 
Directors participate in monthly Board meetings and serve on committees 

such as Governance, Finance and Fundraising. Each term of office is two 

years, with the possibility of renewal for a second and third term. 

Key Responsibilities include: 

 • Strategic Oversight: Guide the OCMS team to align with the mission 

and contribute to Ottawa’s cultural and educational needs. 

 • Financial Stewardship: Oversee OCMS assets and financial 

resources, including budgeting, management, risk assessment, and 

fundraising initiatives. 

 • Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal and 

ethical standards and promote transparency and accountability. 

 • Fundraising and Resource Development: Support resource 

acquisition and leverage professional networks to secure funding. 

Director Nominee Qualifications 
 • Experience with board governance

Carty House offers safety, accommodation and support to its residents as they move through the refugee system and build the resources necessary to live integrated and independent lives in Canadian society.&nbsp;We are currently recruiting for the Secretary position on our Board of Directors. Women’s Initiatives for Safer environments (WISE) is seeking a motivated individual to serve part-time as lead of a committee performing a critical funding need for the organization.As part of a broader Strategic Plan recently adopted by WISE, the Finance &amp; Fundraising Committee is seeking a Fund Development Lead to ultimately help develop a new funding plan and increase the financial stability of WISE. &nbsp;The Fund Development Lead will:&nbsp;<ul><li>Meet regularly to guide committee members to implement the key activities identified in the Strategic Plan under Priority 1: “Strengthening WISE’s financial stability to enhance impact and sustainability”.</li><li>Provide coordination &amp; support to ensure that tasks are completed &amp; timelines are met.</li><li>Act as spokesperson in reporting to the Board of Directors at monthly Board meetings.&nbsp;</li><li>Work with the Finance &amp; Fundraising Committee to ultimately guide the development of a funding development package to help WISE in its goal to increase funding and financial stability.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li></ul>All are welcome to indicate their interest in this position.
