About Up and Running Guelph

Up and Running Guelph is a registered charity dedicated to improving mental health and well-being through inclusive, peer-led, nature-based walking and running programs within a supportive community.

Our programs bring people together through movement, social connection, and the restorative benefits of nature. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the positive impact that community and time outdoors can have on mental health and well-being.

As we enter an exciting new chapter of growth, we are expanding our volunteer Board of Directors and are looking for thoughtful, community-minded leaders to help shape the organization's future.

Serving on the Board of Directors is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Guelph community while helping guide the strategic direction, governance, and long-term sustainability of a growing local charity.

  • Participate on at least one Board committee
  • Prepare for meetings and contribute to governance discussions
  • Support the organization through community engagement, fundraising, and strategic initiatives

The overall commitment is approximately 6–10 volunteer hours per month.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Up and Running Guelph believes our Board is strongest when it reflects the diversity of the community we serve.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, lived experiences, identities, and perspectives. We especially encourage applications from First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples, members of racialized communities, people with disabilities, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, newcomers, and individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges.

If you are passionate about our mission but don't meet every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply.
