JOB DESCRIPTION – TREASURER

Authority:

The Board of Directors is the Legal authority for K-W Seniors Day Program, Inc. As a member of the board, a Director acts in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization.

Responsible to:

Board of Directors

Qualifications:

  • Financial or accounting background/designation
  • Experience with Quickbooks online platform
  • Strong communication and administrative skills
  • Board experience an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Attend all Board meetings
  • Monitor financial performance of K-W Seniors Day Program
  • Present quarterly and year-end financial statements to Board
  • Present annual budget to Board for approval as per Multi-Sector Accountability Agreement with Ontario Health.
  • Commitment to the work of the organization, and a strong belief in supporting seniors in the community to live a home with dignity.
  • Work well as part of a team, and willing to take on a leadership role
  • Represent the K-W Seniors Day Program within the community and to advocate on it’s behalf

Time Required;

  • Monthly Board meetings (approximately 2.5 hours)
  • Posting of invoices to Quickbooks; bank reconciliations; preparation of financial reports, cheque signing authority (approx. 2-4 hours monthly)

  • As a Director of the Board you will have the opportunity to network and to work with others who are committed and passionate about supporting seniors and older adults with physical disabilities, cognitive impairments, who are medically complex, socially isolated and age frail.
  • Hone your own interpersonal and management skills and increase your knowledge of Adult Day Services and other community supports in the community.

Training:

Orientation with shadowing, training through Board participation, opportunity to attend workshops. Support from other Board Members and Executive Director.

Length of Commitment

  • Preferred commitment of at least 2 years; Renewable annual terms
