About the Role:The Support Staff position will support the Agency’s 24-7 Stonehenge locations. In this role, staff will have an opportunity to build skills related to varied contexts and to support clients at different stages of their recovery journey using a spectrum of evidence based approaches to client care.&nbsp; &nbsp;The Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Program is offered&nbsp;to the community of Guelph and Wellington County. The PSH program is a 32-apartment 24/7 supportive housing intervention serving high acuity individuals with a history of housing instability. PSH staff provide dignity promoting support, life skills development, and crisis intervention and work together to facilitate individualized support plans.Stonehenge’s Residential Program is a Therapeutic Community, which is a group-based, highly structured, and powerful treatment approach to substance use recovery. At our Residential center, we work with adult individuals with a history of chronic or acute substance abuse concerns, with or without co-occurring mental health diagnosis. Many of the individuals we work with also have current or previous involvement with the correctional system. &nbsp;The Crisis Stabilization Program is a 24 hr, 8-bed residential crisis service, providing an alternative to hospitalization or criminal detention for individuals experiencing a crisis related to their substance use and mental health. Crisis Stabilization staff provide de-escalation and stabilization of the immediate crisis and connection to the services needed to enable safe and stable community living that addresses client health and wellbeing longer term.&nbsp;The Full Time Support Staff’s primary responsibilities are to ensure the mental and physical safety and wellbeing of the residents in the program, support other staff with various needs, and completing various administrative tasks. EarlyON Supervisor

Our Homework Helper volunteers work one to one to with a child or youth to provide academic support and motivation with, reading, writing, assignments, and homework. This can build confidence and a sense of future educational achievements. Our volunteer might also engage the child/youth in activities and community events. This role supports the child as well as provides respite to parents. &nbsp;Description We are seeking volunteers who can provide support as a homework helper for children/youth in Kitchener &amp; Cambridge. Ideal volunteers will have some tutoring experience, but they should be patient, have good rapport with children/youth and be flexible. They will assist child/youth with learning challenges including reading, writing, homework and studying. Provide a non-judgmental listening ear. Visit the child on a regular, consistent basis and on agreed upon dates and times. Build a positive relationship and be a positive role model. Maintain confidentiality and boundaries.&nbsp;

At Family &amp; Children's Services of the Waterloo Region, Volunteer Drivers provide transportation services for a variety of family needs. This could include driving children to/from school, going to a program or access visit with family or simply helping a child get to an appointment or activity. Do you have some extra time in your week, a reliable vehicle, and looking to make a difference in your community? Family and Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region is currently taking applications for VOLUNTEER DRIVERS to assist our youngest community members and their families.You will provide transportation as a key component to creating a network of support for families and children. Help others and make new connections, while having your mileage reimbursed! You must have - a G license with a good driving record - a vehicle in safe working condition - 1 million dollars in liability insurance on your vehicle. We will work with your availability to volunteer. Child car seat training and car seats are provided. Onboarding and Orientation is required for all positions. We require volunteers to undergo a Police Records Check, Child Welfare Check and a Reference Check due to the nature of the positions in a vulnerable sector.&nbsp;
