Employment Type: Full-Time, One-year Contract

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000

Reports to: Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Community Relations

About the Opportunity

Habitat HMD is seeking an experienced and highly connected Senior Manager, Major Gifts & Campaigns to help grow transformational philanthropy in support of affordable homeownership. This senior fundraising role is ideal for a confident relationship builder with a proven ability to open doors, build trust, make the ask, and secure significant philanthropic commitments.

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Community Relations, the Senior Manager will expand Habitat HMD’s major gift pipeline, cultivate senior-level donor relationships and support the development and execution of major and capital fundraising campaigns across Mississauga, Halton Region and the broader GTA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and actively solicit a portfolio of qualified major gift prospects and donors.
  • Identify and develop relationships with high-net-worth individuals, families, foundations, business leaders, corporations and community influencers.
  • Cultivate, solicit and close significant five-, six- and potentially seven-figure philanthropic gifts.
  • Develop tailored donor strategies, proposals, presentations, cases for support and stewardship plans for donor growth.
  • Help develop, launch and execute major gift campaigns, capital campaigns and strategic fundraising initiatives.
  • Work with senior leadership, Board members and community leaders to support donor cultivation, campaign development, tactics and solicitation opportunities.
  • Maintain an active prospect pipeline, track fundraising activity and provide dashboard forecasts and performance updates.
  • Represent Habitat HMD at appropriate business, philanthropic and community events.

What You Bring

  • 5-7+ years of progressive fundraising, philanthropy, business development or related relationship-management experience, with significant major gift experience strongly preferred.
  • A university degree or equivalent combination of education and senior professional experience is preferred. CFRE or related fundraising credentials are considered an asset. Experience with DonorPerfect or a similar CRM is also an asset.
  • A demonstrated record of personally cultivating, soliciting and closing significant philanthropic gifts.
  • Experience leading or significantly supporting a capital to manage confidential donor relationships.
  • An entrepreneurial, self-starting approach with the ability to create opportunities and move relationships toward meaningful commitments.
