Senior Development Officer
1 Year Contract – Full Time
Virtual – Fully Remote - Canada
We are pleased to offer this exciting contract opportunity to join the Eviance Team in a new role as a Senior Development Officer working to addressing diverse disability issues through the creation of a fundraising and grant based portfolio.
Compensation: $75,000 – $85,000/annum, less statutory deductions, 40-hour work week, paid 37.5 hours/week, compensation in range will be commensurate with experience
Vacation Pay: Based on Employment Standards provisions for incumbent province or territory of residency.
Term: Anticipated to start November 1, 2026 for 12-month duration, extension or renewal of contract is funding dependent
Role Summary
The successful inaugural incumbent will be responsible for establishing the fundraising strategy for our national not for profit organization with a view to diversifying revenue sources to fund projects in alignment with our mission. They will lead the development of pipelines for grants and major donors and develop and lead the internal processes for grant applications, donor engagement and stewardship.

Key Responsibilities
- Work independently, and collectively. with existing leadership and Project Teams, establishing and sustaining strong working relations with Eviance staff and project consultants.
- Research and develop pipeline for granting organizations aligned with Eviance’s mission and values
- Develop Case for Support based on Eviance Mission
- Lead creation of engagement collateral for Case for Support
- Develop grant proposals and applications in collaboration with leadership and project teams
- Research, develop and foster donor pipeline to support strategic directions and objectives
- Develop a donor engagement and stewardship model and supporting policies
- Attend team meetings to capture nature of work in progress to inform grant applications
- Embrace Eviance organizational learning and workplace culture to support collaboration across projects.
- Apply and enhance knowledge, skills and understanding in working with diverse disability subpopulations, especially Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).
- Use SharePoint, MS Office, Canada Helps, Grant Connect.
- Apply strong grounding in diverse disability sub-populations to inform strategies and deliverables.
- Apply principles of broader civil society to projects.
- Apply intersectionality, reflexivity, and human rights approach to projects.
- Ensure comprehensive and timely communication to Eviance team.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years experience in NFP knowledge based organizations
- Experience working with Imagine Canada standards and Grant Connect is required
- Experience with Canada Helps platform
- Knowledge working with GBA+, Belonging , Human Rights cause marketing
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in a related field is preferred.
- Exceptional written skills
- Related designation is preferred
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Proven project management experience
- Demonstrated experience in engagement for social justice
- Knowledge of OPDs using intersectional approach.
- Proven ability to quickly and successfully integrate oneself into a team and culture.
- Previous experience with SharePoint is an asset.
- Bilingual (English and French) is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
