Part Time Program Supervisor – River Rocks Leadership Program

Reporting to the Community Recreation Coordinator, the Program Supervisor – River Rocks - Leadership Program is responsible for planning and executing specialized programming, incorporating Participant Partnerships, Lifeskills, and Youth Advocacy. Supervisor is also accountable for providing on-site staff mentorship and training to the program leaders.

Job Duties Include

  • Initiates, develops and maintains relationships with registered participants.
  • Assists with oversight, planning, organization and leadership of all River Rocks activities, including off-site trips.
  • Supports staff team members in the facilitation of general daily programming and/or events.
  • Employs varied methods of consultation to determine areas of participant interest and programming needs.
  • Monitors space, provide direction, and addresses any issues surrounding: team members’ performance, volunteer engagement, participant interactions and safety, programming, and equipment use.
  • Works to build a culture of engagement and respect, creating a sense of pride and connection within the River Rocks Program.
  • Enforces behaviour criteria amongst participants.
  • Maintains the tidiness of the programming space, and manages care of equipment, maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Takes appropriate action to deal with incidents, problems, emergencies as outlined in the Departmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible for administrative tasks necessary to support the Community Recreation Coordinator, including but not limited to: Distributing staff shift placements, incident reports, summary reports, damage reports, worker injury report, and communication logs.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Completion of Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in the recreation field working Recreation programs Children and/or Youth.
  • Knowledge and experience related to the delivery of recreational programs and youth services.
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR C certification (If hired, must be obtained by September 21, 2026).
  • HIGH FIVE - Principles of Healthy Child Development certification (If hired, must be obtained by September 21, 2026).
  • Willingness to obtain Behaviour Management Systems certification.
  • Public relations skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership resource knowledge and programming skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive, confident and approachable.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to provide a clear Criminal Reference /Vulnerable Sector check that is current (completed in the last 6 months), upon being hired.

Nice to Have

  • HIGH FIVE – Quest 2 certification is preferred.
  • Food Handlers certification is an asset.

What is Offered to Staff

  • Rate of Pay: $21.12 - $22.96 per hour.
  • Hours of Work: This is a non-union position that works up to 10 hours per week, which includes 5 hours of program time per week, and 2.5 hours on Mondays (MCC) and Wednesdays (ARC) for program implementation. The hours of the program are Monday and Wednesday from 3:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., and various daytime office hours.

  • Hybrid Work Program: The Town offers a Hybrid Work Program. A flexible work arrangement, including the option to work from home some or a majority of the time, is currently a possibility with this position, and can be discussed during the interview process.
