Contract: October 13 to December 18, 2026 (10 weeks)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Rate: $30 CAD per hour
Location: 100% remote (based in Canada)
Report to: Director of Learning and Events

The Dais is a public policy and leadership think tank at Toronto Metropolitan University, working at the intersection of technology, education and democracy to build shared prosperity and citizenship for Canada.
We’re looking for an Outreach Coordinator to join our team to drive participation in a national initiative engaging high school students to share their ideas for building healthier relationships with technology in schools. The Outreach Coordinator will design and deliver a national outreach campaign to schools, educators, and school boards, with the goal of reaching as many eligible students as possible and generating a strong and diverse pool of online submissions from students across Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Build a national stakeholder and distribution map of schools, educators, school boards, education organizations and youth serving organizations
- Identify priority audiences, organizations and channels across provinces and territories, with particular attention to underrepresented groups
- Develop an outreach plan and campaign calendar leading up to and through the Challenge deadline
- Develop email copy, outreach templates and other materials for distribution
- Coordinate with The Dais communications team on campaign assets and messaging
- Conduct outreach and manage distribution to identified contacts and organizations
- Manage follow ups and maintain outreach tracking
- Track reach, engagement, registrations and Challenge entries
- Identify gaps in reach by province, territory and audience and adjust the outreach strategy accordingly
- Provide regular updates on progress, opportunities and challenges
Qualities and Skills
The ideal candidate is:
- Tech savvy and able to use Gmail, the internet, and Google Suite
- Highly organized, proactive, self motivated and able to report regularly on their progress
- Very good at managing their time and comfortable working independently
- An excellent online researcher and loves Googling, able to find the right people, organizations and contact information, and have strong outreach skills, including knowing who to contact and how to craft an email that gets a response
- Strategic and able to step back, understand the problem, think through the most effective and time efficient way to approach it, and then take action.
- A confident writer and has excellent written communication skills.
Asset Skills (not essential but nice to have)
- Experience conducting outreach to youth, high schools or educators in Canada
- An existing network in education or the children and youth sector is an asset.
- As this is a national campaign, bilingual English/French writing abilities

- This is a short-term contract role and will end on the contract end date. The role is part-time (20 hours per week) with flexibility to set your own schedule. The role will require 1 to 2 meetings per week during Eastern Time business hours.
