Operations Director
Are you looking for a new opportunity to play a leadership role in a growing non-profit organization, having a meaningful impact on the community?
Runnymede United Church is seeking a part-time Operations Director to provide operational leadership within the church, with overall responsibility to help the organization run efficiently and support our growth initiatives.
Background
Runnymede United Church is a vibrant, hope-filled community of faith. We are experiencing growth—in our staff team, our ambitions, our programming, our rental revenue, our outreach and the overall scope of our activities across two campuses. This role is aimed at strengthening our operational leadership, support our staff team, and ensure our ministry can continue to grow in a sustainable and well-coordinated way.
Role Summary and Responsibilities
This is a part-time, in-office, position (20 hours a week). We are looking for someone to provide the services this role requires, as an independent contractor, at a fee of $40,000 a year based on experience. The Operations Director (OD) is the senior operational leader within RUC. Where the ministers provide spiritual leadership, the OD provides operational leadership. The OD is the operational hub of a complex church—ensuring that vision of the Board and Ministers becomes reality in a sustainable, well-run way. As a new role, it will be important that the individual taking on this position is able to take a leadership approach in helping to develop and define the role.
Responsibilities include ensuring process and procedures are in place for efficient church operations; implementing regular planning for activities and functions; helping to manage church property projects; overseeing the communications function; supervising 2 full-time and 3 part-time operational staff; supporting our Ministry & Personnel Committee with hirings and onboarding; and generally leading the staff team bringing energy, enthusiasm and a sense of mission.
