Milton Program Coordinator
Do you want to be part of an organization that is helping to ensure children in Halton have access to healthy food on weekends throughout the school year? Are you passionate about building relationships, coordinating programs, and making a meaningful difference in your community? If so, this may be the opportunity you've been looking for!
The Milton Program Coordinator plays a key role in delivering Food4Kids Halton’s weekend food program within the Milton community. This position is responsible for coordinating program delivery, supporting school and family relationships, supporting volunteers, coordinating food package distribution, maintaining program records, and ensuring Milton children receive nutritious food packages consistently and with care.
Food4Kids Halton provides packages of healthy food to elementary school students with limited or no access to food each weekend and throughout the summer. Last year, we distributed more than 46,000 food packages to over 1,200 children at more than 100 schools across Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville. A typical Food4Kids bag contains breakfast, lunch, snacks, fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, and other ready-to-eat food for the weekend. Our work is made possible through strong partnerships with schools, volunteers, donors, suppliers, and community organizations.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children experiencing food insecurity. As a small but mighty team, we value collaboration, flexibility, relationship-building, and continuous improvement. If you enjoy connecting with people, coordinating logistics, and seeing the direct impact of your work, we'd love to hear from you.
What you would bring to the role:
- Successful completion of a diploma in Community Services, Business Administration, Social Services, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in program coordination, community engagement, volunteer coordination, customer service, or a related role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with schools, families, volunteers, and community partners.
- Experience coordinating volunteers or community-based programs is considered an asset.
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and the ability to learn new software.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including lifting, carrying, and moving food packages and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
- A valid Ontario driver's licence, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel regularly within Milton.
How you would know you are a good fit:
- You are passionate about supporting children and families in your community.
- You enjoy building meaningful relationships and working with a wide variety of people.

- You enjoy working as part of a small team where everyone contributes to achieving a shared mission.
