The Fundraising and Communications team secures critical resources such as financial support, volunteer assistance, and donated goods to facilitate the functioning of programs and services across Fred Victor, and shares the stories of our work, achievements, and journey both within and outside the organization. We solicit contributions from more than 3,000 active donors, employing a variety of strategies including marketing campaigns, fundraising events, and personal appeals to philanthropic supporters. In addition to facilitating internal information flow between staff and departments, we also convey Fred Victor’s mission and impact to donors, stakeholders, and the public. Each day, our team ensures that the essential supports offered by Fred Victor are available for those experiencing instability, illustrates the power of creating space for clients to make change in their lives, and facilitates our city moving towards an end to homelessness.

What You Will Do:

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support a wide range of marketing and communications activities across digital and traditional channels, fundraising and advertising campaigns, and signature events.

  • Create on-brand graphics and digital assets using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Assist with design requests for social media, email campaigns, event materials, and print collateral.
  • Support day-to-day social media scheduling and publishing across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Draft captions, source or suggest visuals, and monitor comments, messages and mentions.
  • Write clear copy for digital channels, campaigns and internal communications.
  • Research and verify sector data, community statistics and organizational facts for accuracy.
  • Perform basic website updates and support SEO best practices, including meta descriptions, image tagging and content optimization.
  • Pull and compile data from Google Analytics, Search Console and Meta Business Suite.
  • Support monthly performance reports, dashboards and content performance summaries.
  • Assist with Fred Victor signature fundraising, stewardship and cultivation events, including promotion, planning and on-site support.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, and related best practices.
  • Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Experience with WordPress page editing and basic content management.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and/or Search Console.
  • Genuine interest in social justice, community services and nonprofit work.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Highly organized, self-directed and able to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing facts, statistics, claims and published materials.
  • Ability to adapt messaging for donors, volunteers, community members and internal audiences.
  • Ability to maintain brand consistency across digital, print, campaign and event materials.
  • Ability to identify content and analytics trends and surface practical insights.
  • Comfort monitoring social media comments, messages and mentions and escalating issues as needed.
  • Experience with Meta Business Suite is an asset.
  • Photography or video editing skills are an asset.
  • Ability to attend Fred Victor fundraising, stewardship and cultivation events as required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • For the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Fred Victor offers a pay rate between $30.21 to $33.36 per hour
