
Manager, Digital Strategy and Content
The Opportunity
CivicAction is seeking a Manager, Digital Strategy & Content to lead and strengthen the organization’s digital presence, communications systems, and content production.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both strategy and execution. The successful candidate will oversee CivicAction’s website, HubSpot CRM and marketing systems, digital communications, newsletters, social media, video and multimedia content, and related digital platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to build and own a modern digital communications and engagement function within a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Platforms
- Lead CivicAction’s digital and content strategy across all channels.
- Manage and optimize the organization’s website, ensuring content remains current, accessible, and aligned with organizational priorities.
- Oversee HubSpot CRM, email marketing systems, automation, segmentation, reporting, and digital workflows.
- Improve digital systems, processes, analytics, and user experience across platforms.
Content & Communications
- Develop and manage digital content calendars and campaigns.
- Create and oversee newsletters, social media content, organizational announcements, and digital storytelling.
- Support executive communications and thought leadership content.
- Coordinate video production and multimedia content for events, campaigns, and organizational initiatives.
- Ensure consistent brand voice, messaging, and visual standards across channels.
Marketing & Engagement
- Lead digital marketing and promotion for events, programs, and organizational initiatives.
- Support audience growth, stakeholder engagement, and brand visibility.
- Track analytics and provide insights on digital performance and engagement metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve reach, engagement, and organizational visibility.
Collaboration & Operations
- Work closely with program, partnerships, and leadership teams to support organizational priorities.
- Coordinate external vendors, designers, photographers, videographers, and web developers as needed.
- Support organization-wide communications planning and implementation.
- Contribute to a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and mission-driven team environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 5+ years of experience in digital communications, marketing, content strategy, or related roles.
- Strong experience managing websites, CRM systems, and email marketing platforms. HubSpot experience is considered a strong asset.
- Experience developing digital content across multiple channels and formats.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Experience with social media strategy and digital engagement.
- Familiarity with analytics, reporting, and marketing automation tools.
- Experience coordinating creative vendors and digital projects.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach.
Experience in the nonprofit, civic, public policy, leadership, or social impact sector is considered an asset.
Work Environment & Compensation
- Hybrid work environment with approximately one day per week in-office, in addition to key events and organizational activities.
- Summer hours from May to September, including shortened Fridays.
- Office closure between December 24 and New Year’s Day without use of vacation time.

- Salary range: $70,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience.
