The Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT) is looking for a skilled, self-directed professional to grow our national presence and help bring depth-oriented therapy into the conversation it deserves. CAPT represents over 900 practitioners across the country, serving both the profession and the public seeking quality psychodynamic care.

What you will do:

Working within the direction set by the Board and its committees, you will carry CAPT’s communications and membership work forward across three areas:

  • Communications: Run our national social media, content, website, as well as external communications.
  • Membership: Execute recruitment, engagement, and retention campaigns to grow and sustain our membership; track and report the results.
  • Coordination: The Board and committees set strategy and make the decisions; you bring them your ideas and recommendations, and you make their direction happen consistently between meetings.

You will thrive here if you:

  • Have progressive experience in membership growth, communications, marketing, or community engagement (non-profit, association, or health/mental-health settings a strong plus).
  • Have a proven track record of working within a team to generate revenue.
  • Write clearly and well, and know your way around social media and digital content.
  • Work independently and reliably, take direction well, and operate comfortably within clearly defined authority.
  • Are organized, accountable, and at home in a volunteer-governed, mission-driven organization.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in both the non-profit world, mental health, experience in working with professionals in private practices.
  • Experience supporting a professional non profit association.
  • The ability to work in both English and French is an asset.

The details:

  • Independent contract position, 20 hours per week, fully remote within Canada.
  • $40/hour (approximately $41,600 per year).
  • One-year term, renewable subject to performance review and Board approval.
  • Starting date of October 1, 2026.
