Horse Leader or Side Walker For Therapeutic Riding Program

Fall Session starts in September!

Volunteers are needed to lead horses or side-walk for riders with special needs. No prior horse experience necessary. As a leader you need the ability to understand and carry out direct instructions. As a side-walker you need to comprehend instructions and pass them onto the rider and may also need to physically assist/support the rider. Both positions require physical endurance, verbal skills, and excellent English comprehension.

Volunteers must be 15 yrs or older. All volunteers must attend one 2-hour orientation session prior to signing up for their preferred class.

We ask our volunteers to commit to 90 minutes once a week for the entire 8 week session. We offer classes Monday-Thursday during the day and evening and on Saturdays. The fall session starts at the end of September and runs through mid-November.

Fall 2026 Training Dates-You only need to attend one session.
